Asthetics that need addressed for 2014!

There are enough “Gameplay” guys out there preaching, I agree that’s most important but lets bring the rest of the game up to speed as far as AESTHETICS. With apparel companies like NIKE, ADIDAS, UNDERARMOR, and RUSSELL Athletics all over the college football landscape I think its about time that EA Sports NCAA Football puts them in the game…You know since, “its in the game!”

--Madden has this right but NCAA doesnt! The Schutt Ion helmet chin strap snaps two up top and two below the ear. Not all four by the ear. I understand that they can snap all four down by the ear but look at Penn State<st1<!--?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com or anyone that wears them. Here is one from 4 years ago with an adidas visor.</st1</st1

Also add “Justin Tuck Facemask” to the Schutt Ion helmet.

    <o</o

--THE REVO SPEED HELMETS NEED MORE FACEMASKS! I’ve also included the Riddell Model Number for the facemask. Some of these facemasks have been out for over 3 years!<o</o

“s2eg-LW” Its speed 3bar RB but with Speed Robot 1 side pieces, Lemichael James @ Oregon / LaVon Brazill @ OHIO used it.

“s2eg-ii-sp” Its like Air XP helmet with Robot RB Facemask but for Revo Speed. LSU's smoke’n honey badger used it.

“s2bd-sw-sd” Its like Air XP helmet with 2 bar Facemask but for Revo Speed. USC's Matt Barkley and Most QB’s use it in ALL OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL including the latest Heisman Winner from Texas A & M!!!

There is also a single bar of this version for Revo Speed.

“s-kicker” It’s the Kicker Revo Speed Facemask. Alex Henry @ Nebraska used it.

“s3bdu-sp” It’s like Air XP helmet with Full Cage 1 Facemask. The U up top of Facemask but for Revo Speed. Will Gholston @ <st1<st1Michigan </st1</st1

“s2bdc-ht-lw” Its the “BIG GRILL” facemask for Revo Speed Helmet. MORE PEOPLE IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL ARE WEARING IT, especially Lineman. Notre Dame's Lious Nix used it for the 2012 season.

--Riddell Revo Speed 360 is also absent from this game. I've included facemask model numbers in case these helmets grace us with their appearance in 2014.

“2bd-lw”; its like revo speed helmet but with 3 bar RB facemask but for revo speed 360 helmet. Many K-State players used it.

“2bdc-lw” its like revo speed helmet but with 3 bar LB facemask but for revo speed 360 helmet.

“2eg-lw” its like Revolution helmet but with skill facemask but for revo speed 360 helmet. <st1:state w:st="on"><st1Oregon</st1</st1:state>

“3bd-lw” its like revo speed helmet but with the full cage facemask but for revo speed 360 helmet.

--Xenith Helmets are completely missing from this game yet worn by many college football teams. <st1:state w:st="on">Illinois</st1:state>, NC State, and <st1<st1:state w:st="on">Oregon </st1:state></st1

--Helmets, No one in College Football uses the Standard Helmet or the Schutt Standard Helmet anymore with the emphasis on player safety. Take them out. No One uses the Bulldog facemask, not one single player in all of college football.

--Adidas Visors, Eye black, Lip Guard mouth pieces, exposed back plates, Short Medium & Long hair for White and Black players, Compression sleeves / pants, and Accurate Socks. They are in the game EA, Please Put them in the Game!

----Finally, I hope that your team spends the majority of the development time in fixing the game play / player equipment. I’ve always been a HUGE FAN and played this series for many years (16 years now) and would love to continue playing this series but recently the past two years of EA college football games have been disappointing as far as Gameplay / lack of realism to Equipment / Gear used. How last years game made it to market is a simply amazing feat. Concentrate on releasing a product that isn’t full of bugs, freezes constantly, or is a flawed attempt of college football. Dont give us all the Equipment, Helmets, and Gear and then have the Gameplay suck. Dont give us all the Gameplay and then have the wrong Equipment, Helmets, and Gear. It comes off as a half a$$ attempt, EA is a multimillion dollar company if not billion dollar. Figure it out, if you need to hire a consultant group to fix this then get it done.

Holy crap, isn't this in another thread as well? You can stop copy/pasting into new threads. That being said,

Just sick of playing a game that is in shambles man. How this company can release a product that is so flawed is simply amazing. I want other people to review the Gameplay side and Ill handle the Equipment / Gear Side. Gameplay is #1 always but if its in the game then it should be in the game.

I love our equipment enthusiasm but I think we need one huge thread with all missing equipment so it doesn't get redundant.

That's what they want. Why would they want to put out a perfect game right away? How can they make a perfect game better with the following years? They want it so people buy their games every year hoping for something better. That's why many of the things in this world don't last as long. That's why toy cars are made out of plastic instead of steel.

It is rediculous how we don't have all of this in the game by now. If I don't see any additions to the equipment by release day, the art department is going to get a huge beating on the forums. GET IT DON'T EA

It is kinda crazy but its also crazy how people are so worried about things such as socks an face mask.

I mean you never even see that stuff unless its on a replay. To each his own but I never understood it with all the other stuff that could be worked on

...because when you spend hours upon hours working on a roster file to make as accurate as possible, it is extremely frustrating to not find a facemask 60-75% of the QB's in country wear, not in the game.

It looks like from the screen shots and video of ncaa 14 they will still not be in the game. I have yet to see a 2 bar revo speed, i have yet to see a big grill for revo speed, i have yet to see a adidas visor, and i have yet to see a revo speed 360 helmet. Just wish big brother (madden) would help little brother (ncaa) in this regard. This will be 4 years now that they are incorrect but who is counting cuz I know EA isnt.

I don't focus on this stuff in general but great write up OP and agree with you 100%. It's quite sad and demonstrates the difference between devs/designers just simply doing a job, which there isn't anything necessarily wrong with that, opposed to people being passionate about their work. There is stuff on OS and all over the "internets" that anyone taking a few hours to focus on NCAA or NFL football could come up with, that never seems to cross the people that do this for a living mind's or at least it doesn't show in the game.

I don't focus on all the shoes for basketball players or equipment for golfers yet it seems both those respective games have them reasonably accounted for. NCAA/Madden has one of the most passionate fans bases out there yet Tiburon fails to utilize and mobilize them for anything other than milking them for every dollar they can. I hope one day we have gaming studios making football games that are as passionate and meticulous as the fringes of their gamers.

I could not agree more with ya. I went from frustrated to mad to just laughing cuz its a joke at this point. Is it going to stop me from buying? No but for sixty bucks i better have the ability to put about every option i want into my players especially since their company mission statement is "its in the game!"

The other day i heard a rumor that a former EA designer by the name of Josh Brown is gathering momentum to release a detail oriented college football game in 2014 when EA's exclusive rights deal ends for half the price. If this holds traction then there maybe some hope in a game with correct stadiums (led ribbon boards), lineman interactions, wr /db interactions, true physics engine where weight matters, correct equipment / helmets facemasks / jerseys, and playbooks per school / coach. No wasted data space with bull$hit like heisman challenge, ultimate team, and play a season. A game focused on college football and not craming DLC down our throats, microtransactions all over, and a half @ss attempt of college football.

                            Cut them some slack.

What would you rather see? Better animations or new facemasks? There's only so much new stuff that can be thrown in during any given one-year cycle. Also, there's only so much disc space to go around and considering how many teams are in the game (~123 last I checked), how many stadiums are in the game (1 for each team, a few high-school stadiums for RTG, and a few practice fields [I could be missing some here]), how many current equipment options are in there, player models, coach models, animation data, source code (which is a trivial amount compared to the art assets), and other things that are all crammed onto that disc. Basketball doesn't have the sheer size of data necessary to create NCAA Football and neither does golf or baseball.

The other day i heard a rumor that a former EA designer by the name of Josh Brown is gathering momentum to release a detail oriented college football game in 2014 when EA's exclusive rights deal ends for half the price.
Good fricking luck making a game to compete with EA's with his $1,000,000 kickstarter funding (which is currently at just over $12,000). Top that with the fact that he's got less than a year to make the entirety of his game and you've got a recipe for disaster. Who's going to continue to fund his game if he does manage to cobble together something in time for a 2014 release? I can tell you that as a developer myself the sheer scale of what he's trying to do coupled with the extremely limited development cycle is just a recipe for disaster.

"Cut them some slack" Sorry but I did that for three years straight and gave a sigh and said maybe next year. This year is four years now and only now am I personally becoming vocal. Like I have said before that Gameplay is #1 but four years is just ridiculous to the point where its just a joke / lazy / half a$$ed / pathetic / (fill in your own adjective here _____).

The game in development is only promising if anything comes about it and they hold true to their word about creating an accurate detailed portrayal of college football with the examples I mentioned above. However you did hammer the nail on the head with the amount of revenue that EA creates...we shouldn't even be having this conversation because with that kind of profit margin everything in the game should be seamless and smooth with attention to detail. The sad truth is that isn't the case.
