You won't see them too often, if you look at my post on TSP radio show last night, TSS guys were at EA last week and said the running game is very sim minded and not overdone whatsoever.

Gonna be honest, I don't trust this to be true. Anyone who generates hits off of this game is gonna pimp it.

You'll always get less hits bashing Madden.

I trust them, but we'll see for ourselves at E3

Honestly, I'm more interested in the frostbite engine and see how that looks.
See how it looks in Battlefield 4, Mass Effect 4, Dead Space 4, or one of the 2 new Star Wars IPs that are coming? Cause you won't see how Madden looks in it lol.

True, but there is a new engine that we will see for EA Sports games at E3. Hopefully we will all be blown away by the new engine. If its going to be in all EA Sports titles then it must be something comparable to FrostBite, but just the sports minded version.

It kinda reminds me of the 90s- early 2000s when ea sports games were more alike and marketed together, and not as separately as we have seen this gen. They used to show previews of other ea sports games in each game, but they don't anymore. Hopefully we see a return of that continuity on next gen, it would be nice if all EA Sports titles were as good as the FIFA & NHL series are.

I'm not too sure that they will all use the same engine. Could have sworn I saw something about FIFA 14 on next gen recently with no mention of any other EA sports title.

I know what you mean on the EA Sports family being closer knit back in the day. Every EA Sports game used to have a little montage of other sports titles when the game launched and there were adverts for other sports games in the manual.

I've never played FIFA or NHL, but I can't help but be skeptical of how good they actually are. An EA Sports title that is actually any good seems pretty incomprehensible to me based off of my Madden and Live experience. Plus I'm usually more critical than most lol.

I just want a great Football videogame and I don't care who they have to imitate to make that happen.

FIFA and NHL are two of the best sports games every year, how can you say it's incomprehensible that EA Sports would make a good game when they made the best sports games from 1990-2005?

"Regarding next-generation consoles, we are under a non-disclosure agreement with our platform partners, however, we're planning a full reveal at E3 including more next-generation titles in development for FY14," Gibeau said. "This will include breakthroughs in graphics and gameplay for some of our biggest franchises including Battlefield, FIFA, Madden, NBA Live and Need for Speed. We plan to unveil new titles from EA Sports, BioWare and DICE and a first look at some brand new games."

"Gibeau also touched briefly on a brand new engine being developed by the EA Sports team. The unnamed engine will be shown along with the Frostbite 3 engine, revealed at DICE. According to Gibeau, these engines will power "all of our development on the new systems."

The best sports games from 1990 to 2005 by who's measure lol? I certainly don't think they made the best sports games for that span. They had some years where they had the best, but definitely not every year IMO.

They were way behind Gameday for almost the entire PS1 generation. Live has been behind NBA2K since its inception. NFL2K and Madden traded years being better than each other during the PS2/XBOX era until an unspeakable travesty occurred...

To each his/her own, but I can say in good conscience that I find it incomprehensible that EA Sports makes a game that I would find to be good. I've spent too many decades playing them to not doubt that this is the case.

This post makes no sense whatsoever, not long ago you were saying that Madden was awesome up until 99 and then you say that NFL2k and Madden traded years being the best, you've never played the best sports games of this generation which have been the FIFA and NHL series, you're all over the place in your line of thinking and reasoning. I know almost NOBODY who thinks that Gameday was better than Madden during that era, so good luck proving that point. You say you find it incomprehensible that EA Sports made a game that you found to be good but you clearly thought Madden was up until Madden 99 and then you said that it was trading off with 2k in that era, so it had to have been pretty good, since we all know NFL2k was the so called "GOAT" LOL. You haven't even played most of their games besides Madden and NBA. NBA 2k wasn't better than Live until 2k8 or so. Live 10 was one of the best ones they made this gen. EA Sports is making good sports games right now, because NHL and FIFA are two of the best sports game series this gen and Tiger Woods 14 was a very good game this year in its own right.

1- You have never seen a post from me that says that Madden was awesome up until 99. I'm pretty sure I'm the guy who said that Madden was always doing less on the same hardware than its competitors, but I guess you took that to mean that I thought it was awesome somehow. Sorry for the miscommunicae. I said after 99 was when it went downhill in many respects. Those are two totally different things.

2- NFL2K was a great game compared to Madden 2000 and showed how much Madden needed to step it up, but NFL2K as a franchise had up and down years until they made their best and final NFL game in 2K5. IMO Madden has not been better than it since. The best out of TWO whole games doesn't mean that Madden was great lol. It just means that it was better than the other.

3- Whether YOU know anyone who thought Gameday was better than Madden is irrelevant. Look at the sales and look at the reviews of those games. Gameday almost ended Madden until they FINALLY realized how to make a polygon based Football game. So, yeah...

4- Um... yeah... the whole point is that I haven't played FIFA and NHL. I'm judging them based off of EA Sports games I HAVE played and said I find it hard to believe they make good games. I don't know any other way to write this to make it any clearer... lol.

5- Live has been terrible since forever, so if you think that NBA2K overtook it in 2007, then I'll just move on.

I'm sorry jp. I am not in love with Madden and I have little faith in the EA Sports dev teams whose games I've played. If this offends you, again, I apologize.

Seriously you two need to cut it out now. I'm sick of coming into every thread and seeing a post from you guys going back and forth. This is the 4th or 5th thread with the same act being repeated.

Ok no reason to apologize, I understand what you were saying a little better now, but let me just clear up a few things on my end. I'm not in love with Madden, I'm in the same boat as most that Madden hasn't been very good since 05. I guess where I differ than most is I actually liked 05 better than 2k, but they were both really solid and I played them both a ton. There are things I like about Madden 13 but overall I think they still have a long ways to go and playing a game like NBA2k12,13 is a good reminder of that. Every series has their issues and none are perfect. So at the end of the day I guess it's just who has the least amount of issues that affect the game from being great. The problem with Madden is the issues it has are by no means new and haven't been fixed in many years so I see why people are very skeptical about that that changing now.

Ever since Cam Weber came on board I have had a really good feeling that things would change and I still do. I could end up being wrong and have to come to the realization that Madden won't ever get better, but I don't think that is what will happen. I think Madden is going in a good direction and will keep getting better each year until it eventually is the best football series ever made. Yes, I feel that good about Madden's future. We shall see if they ever get there or if those of us who have hope for the future of Madden are all living in fantasy land. I will remain optimistic until I'm shown reason not to be and it's no different than you who will remain pessimistic until shown reason not to be.

Definitely getting OT of the thread, so for that I apologize.

When someone asks my opinion, though, I give it. When someone asks me to qualify something I said, I do it. When someone misrepresents what I've said, I correctly point it out.

Don't know what else to say.
"You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling."

You've both been previously warned for this type of behavior. So there won't be yellow cards or friendly warnings next time.
