    Anyone for Pre-1980s Roster?

I was thinking, with RayRay making rosters with the 80s, 90s, 2000s, I think there should be a roster devoted to 50s, 60s, 70s Teams. From Mikans MVP season of 51-52, to the start of the Celtics dynasty, to Wilts 100 to the ABA to Portland winning against Dr J, I think we shouldn't miss out.

I don't wanna hear, "well, most of us havent lived during the era, so, what about ratings?" I got that taken care of. I got permission from HAWK23 from NLSC (if you don't know, the Ultimate Base Roster mod maker for 2K12) to use him ratings and animations, which is good.

Thing is I don't have a lot of time yet to devote to Copying/Pasting, making CAPs for the non cyberface/black arms. So this would require help. It would take time and patience since the copying and pasting process can be tideous.

So the question is, anyone want this roster to be made?

    I would definitely be interested.

Edit: I think all the Old school guys would love this.

I would love this roster. I grew up on 80's and 90's but love the older eras as well. the 70's would really be cool to me with prime dr j and kareem etc.. Not enough rosters of this kind out for 2k13. Would be nice to have more options to play against since they only have a few teams for the older eras in the game.

Once I get done with the 86-87 roster (who knows how long given recent issues) I would be happy to offer CAPs from our 93 team retro set from 2k12.

        http://www.operationsports.com/forum...d.php?t=571392

As you can see, the team list is fairly comprehensive. I had developed a sure fire method of moving CAPs from 12 to 13. The next project in line is an 1980-2012 roster...but if you want to use my CAPs let me know since I will be converting them anyway.

If we get a fix for our current issues and we can put together a team I'm on board..... These big rosters I've been doing by myself are taking a toll on me. Would love to work with a group of people on a project for once.

I have the 1948 Lakers, the 1947 Phillips 66ers, 1948 Oshkosh Allstars, the Sheboygan Redskins and Chicago Staggs from that year. It's in 2k12 reditor format though.

Sure. Just format the teams for 2K13 and we got 40s teams. I was planning for the 1st NBA Champs also. (1946-47 Philadelphia Warriors.)

Some of them are the retro Philadelphia 76ers jerseys like the one that says PHILA and its Red and black numbers, its a Philadelphia Warriors jersey.

I also don't mind running CAT JERSEYs.

Also, 70-71 Hawks arena = most generic arena/court EVER. Most likely the court that will be used for most teams.

Heres the list of the teams I've thought about having on the roster WIP

-keep all pre 1980s NBA 2K13 Teams and refill them

Teams to consider (from UBR 2K12)
                      *ABA Team

                      1) 1946-47 Philadelphia Warriors
                      2) 1946-47 Chicago Stags
                      3) 1950-51 Rochester Royals
                      4) 1951-52 Minneapolis Lakers
                      5) 1954-55 Syracuse Nationals
                      6) 1957-58 St. Louis Hawks
                      7) 1961-62 Cincinnati Royals
                      8) 1961-62 Philadelphia Warriors
                      9) 1964-65 St. Louis Hawks
                      10) 1966-67 San Francisco Warriors
                      11) 1967-68 Pittsburgh Pipers*
                      12) 1968-69 Oakland Oaks*
                      13) 1969-70 Baltimore Bullets
                      14) 1969-70 New York Knicks
                      15) 1970-71 Utah Stars*
                      16) 1971-72 Miami Floridians*
                      17) 1971-72 New York Nets*
                      18)1971-72 Virginia Squires*
                      19) 1972-73 Carolina Cougars*
                      20) 1972-73 Indiana Pacers*
                      21) 1974-75 Kentucky Colonels*
                      22) 1975-76 Phoenix Suns
                      23) 1975-76 Boston Celtics
                      24) 1975-76 Flint Tropics*
                      25) 1975-76 San Antonio Spurs*
                      26) 1975-76 Spirts of St. Louis*
                      27) 1976-77 Portland Trail Blazers
                      28) 1978-79 Washington Bullets
                      29) 1978-79 Seattle SuperSonics
                      30) 1979-80 Boston Celtics
                      31) 1979-80 Los Angeles Lakers

I'd say its a good list. Starts with Warriors ends with Lakers for now. From Joe Fulks to Magic Johnson.

But anyone got info on these teams? (Non-UBR 2K12 ideas)

                      1946-47 Toronto Huskies
                      1946-47 New York Knickerbockers
                      Original Celtics
                      Any classic Harlem Globetrotter teams
                      Any classic Team USA teams

                        Re: Anyone for Pre-1980s Roster?

I think its great if any roster maker makes anything, but IMO, I think this roster would be a waste of your talents. Not because I don't like those teams, but because I don't feel the game accurately depicts that old school style of ball. Maybe its just me, but I think playing with those teams it is very difficult to recreate the way they played.

I'd suggest doing an 80s or 90s roster or a specific season from that era (I vote for mid 90s, personally). I know RayRay is sort of doing that, but he's not doing all the teams.

But cheers to you if you decide to go ahead with it, and I'll definitely give it a shot. Hopefully you can make it work. I'll be eager to try the Walton-Blazers. Can't believe they aren't in the game.

You are right it would be Tough to make the Older teams keep up with More Modern teams, but what you would basically have to do is Adjust Shooting. Older players could always shoot, they just didnt have the 3pt line as a Guide. They still shoot and Made deep shots, so great shooters from those days would Translate over. Now they would Lack in Athleticism aspect, but would make up for it in the Fundamentals(Passing, Shooting, Off Aware, etc). I think the Project would be a MAJOR Asset to the OS Community.

because they didn't shoot 3's back when there was no line why not make the 3pt tendency for all the players in that era 0?

The 3 pt shooting wasn't the issue I had in mind, because guys still took long jump shots. What concerned me was the ball movement, the pace, and the the things those guys did rather than rely on athleticism, which are tough to incorporate into the game.
