Re: Madden NFL 25 Trailer - Defensive Control Gameplay
I think there's the hope that they're better prepared and know that something like that can't fly again. It's unknown at this point though. That's what makes the next month or so so intriguing. If they released an improved fully fledged next-gen game rather than a demo knock-off, it could go a long way moving forward. But again, all of that is yet to be determined and we should probably get a good idea of where we're headed in the next month.Comment

Re: Defensive Trailer UP
One thing I do not like starts at 0:58....The Seahawks appear to be running a sweep to their left; Seahawks #75 fires out to take on 49ers LB #53, but the Seahawks blocker takers on the 49er LB by going after his backside shoulder thus placing a poor block on the LB which is moving in the direction of the sweep, hence away from the block, and makes the tackle....
Not sure if this is poor mechanics showing through or poor ratings in regards to the blocker...
On a high note - Bowman (53) does push away from the blocker, which may show again an instance where suction blocking is reduced...Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Trailer - Defensive Control Gameplay
Maybe if it happened two generations in a row with the same dev team. That was only 1 generation transition and now they have a new dev team. The only way for that claim to be justified is if a bad generation of gaming actually happens that way for this next gen or if it already happened. All we can do is sit back and wait. Not get worked up over one messed up gen.Last edited by carvis#15; 05-15-2013, 05:48 PM.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Trailer - Defensive Control Gameplay
Two things that stood out to me.
1) The bull rush by the Atlanta DE was awesome. Completely destroyed the tackle.
2) At 1:06 the DE #56 for the Steelers makes a beautiful pass rush move.
Hopefully they can implement these moves and keep them balanced.Comment

Also at 0:35 Cowboys DE Ware sheds his blocker to tackle the RB...Really looking in a number of line interactions that some tweaking of the suction between players has been adjusted...Comment

The hits all seem exaggerated. I hate that running in place, 1 on 1 standoff animation you get because how often do guys really stand up each other for that long? I wish they would just focus on getting a smoother and more natural player movement. I think if they could nail the way players move, it will help make the running, the blocking, the tackling more natural and less animation heavy and exaggerated impact.Comment

Re: Defensive Trailer UP
I will just mention one thing and be done with any defensive improvements implied to Madden 25. Players standing around the ball.....just look for it and know that when ever "that" animation is triggered...there's no stopping it.
To add to my statement I give the example of the Patriots Bills portion of the video where Mayo stands up the ball carrier....although earlier in the video you see a clean up hit, in this instance you see two other players come into view and don't attempt to effect the play...they just watch. This indicates to me that whenever the stand up tackle animation occurs, there's no stopping it. If this is the case then there are certain to be other instances where animations won't be able to be interrupted.

Now, I haven't played Madden 13 in quite some time, mainly cuz I need to replace my PS3, heh, but is it me or are the natural head snap animations missing from the results of hits that were in Madden 13??? THAT was one of the first things I noticed that was actually pretty great and realistic when they first started showing off IE for Madden 13 and now it's completely missing. I'm starting to wonder if they over tuned IE with IE 2.0. Could be another example of EA going backwards when "going forward."Just cuz you pour syrup on ish....Comment

It's just for the trailer, Simfballcritic addressed the game speed vs the trailer speed in the last analysis video of the 1st feature playbook run free trailer.Comment

Looks pretty good. A lot better than the other trailers, good thing they took their time to make this one halfway decent. I wish there was more wrap up tackles though, a lot of the tackles they could've wrapped up, instead their arms really didn't do anything and they just shoved.Comment

Re: Defensive Trailer UP
I really hope so. Because that kind of speed worries me when it comes to madden. Last year Madden even on super slow still felt a little to fast.Comment

Aside from the speed deal. I thought the video looked pretty good. I'm looking forward to full gameplay videos next month at E3. Bring it on baby!!Comment
