Re: Madden NFL 25 Trailer - Defensive Control Gameplay
True "cleanup" hits have never been in Madden - I am talking ball carrier is held up in "struggle" animation and the user can come "hit stick" him, both him and my own defender, the whole pile. There have been occasional "consecutive" hits, but never "initiated" by the user...Comment

Cleanup hits would be a dream come true to me.
Anyway, I liked what I saw for the most part.
I wasn't expecting any wholesale changes so if the aforementioned improvements pan out then I think it will be a good game.
Lets be honest with ourselves, Madden this gen will NEVER be what we all want it to be. There is no reason to keep getting mad about it.
I honestly couldn't be more even keeled for Madden 25 current-gen.
Now, Next-gen. That I'm excited about.Comment

Real talk - I have no clue what was "new" in that trailer besides that leg drag and that (or something similar) is already in the game.#WashedGamerComment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Trailer - Defensive Control Gameplay
I watched the video again, at 1:06 there is a "cleanup hit" it is quick, but it is there - now the only thing is that we are watching a trailer - meaning we have no idea if the hit was administered by the CPU or a user, or for that matter if these trailers are even made from actual gameplay to start with...Comment

I saw nothing new in this trailer....in fact outside of new buzz words (heat seekers) I'm not close to being impressed. I hope the next gen Madden actually has something impressive to offer. This is shaping up to be more of the same.“What’s better than one billionaire? 2.....”Comment

Referencing the blocking video and the amount of new animations gives me flashbacks to last year where I believe they marketed "over 430 new catching animations"- which was completely false.Comment

Ha, always the glass half full guy! I'm out on this Gen, last year was it for me boarding the hype train. Based on this video and some of the other trailers, there are two ways M25 will play out. People that purchase the PS3/Xbox360 version are going to feel cheated once they unveil the next Gen M25, or people that purchase both versions are going to feel cheated. With Kolbe getting almost two cycles to work on the next Gen version, these videos and the marketing for this Gen has led me to believe EA has moved on.

If you didn't know by now, I've been hammering away at 13 since November, since that was the last time it was in the tray.
We'll just need to see at E3.
The trailers so far have been meh to me, but I was perked up by that new thread.Comment

I realize its unrelated to what was shown but does anyone else think the Giants blue is incredibly light in this game?

Another thing I noticed with the ball carriers this year is they don't really turn their heads much. They either have it down or they or looking straight ahead. In most of those clips the ball carrier wasn't even looking at who was tackling them.http://twitter.com/sageinfinite

Re: Madden NFL 25 Trailer - Defensive Control Gameplay
That was disappointing. There was nothing really there that was much different from the past. Just more buzz words like "heat seeker" to fill out the bullet points on the back of the box. I'm getting sick of all the catch phrases like IE, forces system, hit stick, etc.
The video spoke volumes in what it DIDN'T talk about. That is no modifier system on defense, no advanced controls for the DL and no improved system to break blocks. Disappointing but not unexpected.
Works for everything, as a RB, left stick moves the guy, right stick controls your stiff arm/ hands, L2 + right stick controls your jukes, L2+R2 + right stick does power moves, R2 controls your burst of speed.
Think of how much nicer it'd be if the players moved like the guys in NBA 2k and we had the advance controls that game offers, but for a football game.Comment
