Why are so many PF's & Centers FG rating jacked up?

Off the top of my head heres a few. There is also at least 20 scrubs with a 80+ fg rating that play PF or center. Some some big men do deserve a 80 for fg rating but most of them do not.

    Josh Smith 86
    Cousins 85
    Griffin 80
    Noah 73
    Drew Gooden 87
    Ibaka 85

Tim Duncan can hit a open mid range shot and hes as good as any using glass but he has a 92 mid range which puts him on Stephen Curry league of shooting. I know SoT factors a little bit but you pass to any big man with a rating like that he can drop 40 points every game with ease.

If Blake Griffin had a killer 80 mid range shot than why did the clippers try to trade for Garnett because they needed a big that could shot and spread teams out. Griffin can't shot period. Blake Griffin shoots better than James Harden.

I really want to know how people get around this and how there's not more fuss about this.

I see ur point however u can't just dribble around with a big and pull up open shots...it's so easy to contest a bigs shot so it really isn't as effective... Try it play with a sg and a pf with the same mid range... Let me know who has a way better shot plus its sooo much easier to get open with the small men

found a good site to see what each player shoots at 3-9 ft, 10-15, and 16-23.

After a strange decision to trade emerging star point guard Devin Harris along with two first round picks for Jason Kidd two seasons ago, the Mavericks have had some good short-term success, suggesting the trade wasn’t as bad any many doubters believed. Finishing 50-32 last season and knocking off a San Antonio squad sans Manu […]

Marc Gasol for example shoots way more and better than Tim Duncan who has a 92 mid range. Gasol has a 70 mid range.

Nothing checks out for the 2k insiders ratings. Its basically all made up and fake.

2ks Rosters are always a joke, go to the rosters section on this forum and find yourself a more realistic roster made by the community, improves game play 10 fold! Then edit one of those to your liking.

Not trying to defend 2k in anyway buy stats don't tell everything... How many shots does each take, at what point in the shot clock, and how open are they...that's just a few things most stats don't tell

first of all, there is no "fg" rating. it appears you are referring to the mid range rating, so why dont you call it that?

second, ibaka and cousins are both pretty good from mid range and drew gooden is too although he hardly plays anymore.

Honestly though after they make the first ratings we are lucky they update it at all... They already made the money so y continue to do a service if we arnt paying more... I wish they did more also but I would be more than willing to hand out 2.50 a month for continued updates or something along those lines... Most ppl whether u believe it or not dont come on these threads not care about the updates

Just noticed Rashidi released his finished roster update. Best roster I ever seen for NBA 2k.

I didnt use his feb one bc it was unfinished but I couldn't do better myself. To get roster like this would take weeks non stop of going through every player and getting the data.

How is this guy not doing rosters for NBA 2k yet.

Sadly I am one of the few Bucks fans in the world and Gooden can hit a open jumper but hes not one of the best shooters in the NBA. A 87 mid range would make him one of the best.

I would rate Gooden a 75-77 mid range.

Nobody would buy NBA 2k for $60 period if roster updates were not part of the deal or patches since they release every NBA 2k game broken and its not even playable until the second patch. Same goes for most sport games now and that's the standard.

They rush the game out and ship it broken and just think they can fix it later if not o well.

Not allot of people would buy the same game every year just with a few changes for $60. Patches and roster updates are part of the cost. I would be fine with no patches if they could release a game not broken on release. But this last gen company's know they can get away with it now.

Rashidi's isn't the best, IMO, I still think Paul_Pierce, Rondos, Hyperballers, and ronyell's are better. Don't know why the bigs have high mid range for the stock 2K rosters though.

IMO, some big men deserve high ratings from mid range. Guys like Marc Gasol, Chris Bosh, David West all shot the at about a 45% clip from mid range this season, all on 5+ attempts per game. However, I do agree that guys like Josh Smith and Blake Griffin should have much lower ratings from mid.
