Next Gen Max Prices (consoles & games) ...

The next gen is upon us, thus no confirmation as of yet has been made about the prices of these new consoles and its games ... then again, what would be, the max amount you may afford, so you can get them ?

In order to account for consoles and games answers, multiple choices are allowed ...

Having voted tho, please post what do you think "should be" the prices range and why.

Re: Next Gen Max Prices (consoles & games) ...

My answers might not offer the variety we may see within this post through time, as my view is affected by my current unemployment status.

I am willing to pay (thanks to a portion of some savings when I had a job) a max of US$500 for the new consoles and something between US$60-69 for its games.

Now, I wish the ranges werent as high, thus given how they are marketing this next gen to effectively outdo the current one, considering some of the specs already announced and due to how have we been bombarded with news of the constant increased videogame budgets yet lower sales, I cant but feel/fear that this will be the ranges if not above those.

Hopefully, the so highly acclaimed new ways of monetization would come in as absorbers, as well as the highly praised easyness that this new consoles provide for developing games, both variables softening the investment for this next gen ... even more, I hope the current economy gets quickly reinvigorated and for my own not so distant future sake, that I get a job

      Interested on reading your answers.

Well sony has already come out and said that games will not be getting and more expensive and will go from free to play to 60 bucks. And just recently Gamestop has said that they think both the ps4 and xbox one will be less expensive at launch then the past consoles. I hope they are right because the less money i have to pay the better.

Still a lot of games to enjoy on 360,PS3,PC for me so i'm not in a hurry. I'll wait for a 300-350$ price tag.

Looking at the tech they'll use, they should cost 400-500 at release imo. So if you buy the console, another controller, two games ... you'll be around 550-650$ ...

Concerning games, only sports games,GTA & RPG are worth 60$, i'm not paying more ...

I should have read the post first.

I voted based on what I thought they would actually be $500-599 & $60-69

I really wanna pay 399 max. But ill go 499.

As far as Games Idk. 59.99 already is already steep for me.

If they were $399 max, I'd consider getting them both (obviously no where near at the same time). Hell, I won't even be getting a Playstation 4 right away because I expect the price to be at least $499.

Of course, all rumors now. We'll just have to wait and see.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they were $499. Since I'm getting both consoles at some point, it would be nice if they were $399 or lower. But compare the prices of other electronics, Ipads start at $499, an unsubsidized Iphone starts at $799. I can see Sony and Microsoft citing the prices of other electronics as reasons that they don't have to try to keep the prices down.

I'm expecting $500-$599 given the hardware, with MS offering a $300-ish option w/ a 2 year contract for Live.

Not expecting a change in game prices, other ways to monetize them so no need to make the initial purchase decision more difficult for consumers.

I got a feeling that the XO is going to be cheap somewhere between $300-$400 (with the strategy to make the money up via subscription for the box). The PS4 will probably be $500 (it's definitely not going to be $600). Un-knowledgeable people will probably flock to the cheaper XO not knowing about all the up-charges they will be subject to and it will basically spy on their customers to tailor ad's to them to help subsidize the cost.

I'm not paying $60 without being able to get $20-30 of that on trade-in. I already don't usually pay $60.

If you have a fun game but it is short or has some other shortcomings, then I won't get it until it is cheap. If it never gets to cheap, then I won't play it.

I'm guessing Sony prices their console at 500 games same as they get now around 60. If they price the PS4 at 400 I'll buy at launch otherwise I am waiting.

No interest in Microsoft at the moment.

I'm just goin spend $100 or less on some games I've missed out on this gen (assassins creed, UC3, etc)
Not saying that the next gen won't be worth it, I would rather just enjoy my PS3 fully until it's more reasonable to upgrade for myself =)

Don't give a damn how much it cost because that's what us sucker azze gamers do for fun. We complain about what we can't stand or agree with then we cave and talk about how glad we are that we did.

If the system is $699 and the games are $80-$100 I'm buying. Nuff said
