Do you think Madden 25 will be better on current gen or next gen?

I'm honestly conflicted, on one hand i keep hearing about the improvements with the new engine, graphics, AI, etc, etc. Yet on the other hand it's hard to justify shelling out $500-$600 on a new console, for what may only be moderate improvements.

The Amazon pre-order bonus for the anniversary edition of the game with NFL Sunday Ticket is yet another reason i am considering sticking with current gem Madden, i would hate to wait an extra 2-3 months and get a game with only slight improvements, and NOT get the NFL sunday ticket bonus. Anyway i digress, what are you're thoughts.

If the ignite engine is what ea claims that it is, next gen will be incredible. If its just hype, I still think current gen will be really good.

At the very, very worst it will be the same, but rendered at 1080p with better antialiasing, which will be awesome!

The first few few cycles of a new platform are never good.

Learned that with PS2 and stayed away from PS3 for years.

Will do the same with the PS4.

M25 will be a lot better overall for PS3/360

          And if I am wrong....awesome.

EA claims that they are better pre-paired for this cycle and I believe them too, put that with the new systems (especially the PS4) being easier to develop for I think Madden along with the gaming industry in general are better prepared for this cycle and I think we will see better games at the start this fall.
I think Madden 25 on next-gen will come out swinging, no way the repeat what they went through last cycle, they claim they are well aware of that and I think they are determined not to repeat it. The good news is that we don't have to wait too long to know, as we anticipate they will show off Madden 25 running on the next-gen consoles on June 10!

I don't see how it can be worse, but this is Tiburon, never know with these guys. With that said, it better be better than current gen, lol. The way this engine is being touted, with all the power and advancements it's said to have, gameplay wise it should totally dump on current gen. Features is a different story. Honestly I couldn't care less about features/game modes until I can actually enjoy the gameplay. I will be getting a PS4 ASAP, and I hope I have a SICK NFL game to enjoy with it.

I go from hoping the game will improve to not knowing for sure or not if it will.

I'd be more comfortable if EA would just sit down for a few weeks and watch NFL films and go from there, instead of the route of using programs like the GC program to tell them how the game should be.

I feel like this will be the same as it has been the last two times we got a new system. You get the current gen game because, most importantly, you want a game for the season. By the time the new game comes out, it's so flashy you get it. At the time, you'll enjoy the new gen game for a month or two. However, in retrospect, you'll look back and think the old-gen game was better.

Personally I never looked back to PS1 Madden once I got Madden 2001 on PS2.

Its not like we won't know which will be better before 08/27. They are showing the game at E3 on June 10th, we will know alot more about both these games in plenty of time to make a choice.

I was just wondering is there a possibility that M25 for the new consoles could have a completely different Franchise Mode than current gen. Reason being, I went back and noticed that Kolbe, formerly from The Show, now Creative Director for M25 on new consoles, had a Franchise mode in that game too. So they could very well be not using Looman's vision for M25 on the new consoles and maybe not even input from other devs this gen like Donny Moore for ratings.

What are others thoughts on this, is it possible or am I just wishful thinking?

I don't know what to expect but I hope they stay along the same path. This year was Owner Mode, next year has to be some sort of an expansion upon the Coach side with all the micro-management intricacies. Outside of a lot of cosmetics, there really isn't too much left you can add to the financial side of Owner Mode, I think. Maybe we get both this year on next-gen but nobody knows at this point.

Stolen from the X1 thread, some cool possibilities w/ the new controller for how you're tackled, feeling pressure, etc:

During the press conference we admit this sounded like complete marketing guff, especially when combined with the phrase "dynamic impulse triggers". But in truth when we tried this particular feature for ourselves we found it to be one of the most exciting aspects of Xbox One from a gamer's point of view.

Essentially, Microsoft has increased the number of force feedback motors in the Xbox One controller, allowing for more subtle rumble in localised parts of the pad. In one FPS-style demo we played, a virtual hand held out a pistol. Firing the pistol with the controller's right trigger resulted in simulated recoil occurring on just that part of the controller.

In another demo, which had the same virtual hand magically spawn a fire ball, we could 'feel' the explosive projectile explode from the centre of the controller and out towards your fingers. It was an impressive effect.

Other demos better showed off the feature's application as a gameplay enhancement. One allowed us to start the engine of a supercar with the Y button, causing the Xbox One controller to cough and splutter realistically as the virtual engine sparked to life.

In another section showing a close up of the vehicle's wheels, the controller pulsed to simulated bumps in the road surface, and then violently clanged as the anti-lock breaks kicked in.

Finally, a simple demo featuring a human figure caused the controller to simulate a heartbeat, directly on the corresponding spot of the pad on the top right hand corner. It's been suggested the subtlety of Xbox One's force feedback could be used to find secrets of even indicate the direction of enemy fire in next-gen games.

Every journalist we spoke to at Microsoft's Redmond event agreed; the Xbox One controller feels like a big improvement over its 360 predecessor.

In comfort, the pad's handles feel more angular and better defined, screw holes and seam lines have been removed and the 360's bulky battery pack has been rotated 90 degrees and absorbed inside the controller. The latter means the Xbox One pad feels lighter, with weight better distributed across the peripheral.

From a functionality perspective, fans will be pleased to hear that the much-criticised d-pad of the current console has been redesigned and now feels tighter and more accurate with buttons presses rewarded with a satisfying click. The analogue sticks too have had their dead zones minimised significantly, says Microsoft.

I agree with the premise of this but I hope their is a different "mind" behind the details than Looman's. He "lost me" with the XP for players last year and then this year failing to continue to flesh out HC09's realistic player management elements. I know The Show is lauded for it's realism and I hope the Franchise mode in M25 for new consoles follows suit under new leadership.
