Re: Fantasy Draft Results Thread
Yeah I do like the M's a lot, if I was to play all 162 games I would choose them, if was mostly simming and only playing the occasional game I would pick the Rox...RED SOX NATION!!!!Comment

Are you doing any franchises with playing the full season not necessarily 162 games but sticking with a team?
Btw just saw your post in miggys thread. 66 bombs!? That breaks the single season record if you don't count steroids.

Re: Fantasy Draft Results Thread
the rockies outfield is sick, and that middle infield, in 3 years - holy moses. thats all i have to say about that. i think the rockies are a better overall team, but i would love to see the pitching numbers for safeco.A few posts back a guy decided to draft for both the yanks and mets, which got me thinking, I can draft well against a CPU, I can draft well against my mates, but how well can I draft against myself... The foreseen problems being that I always had specific targets in specific rounds but how would I go having to take two players per round and fill two rosters... This was slightly relieved by the fact that I chose to do a pitch heavy team in Seattle's Safco Park, and a hitter heavy lineup in the always hitter friendly confines of Colorado's Coors Field... Here's my results... (sorry in advance for the long post)
Colorado Rockies - The Power
Rotation
Jamie Garcia
Daniel Hudson
Derek Holland
Michael Pineda
Danny Hultzen
'Pen
CP Neftali Feliz
Aaron Crow
Jonathan Broxton
Robbie Ross
Carter Capps
James Russell
Gerrit Cole
In the field
C Matt Weiters
1B Mark Trumbo
2B Francisco Lindor
3B Xander Bogaerts
SS Manny Machado
OF Oscar Taveras
OF Justin Upton
OF Giancarlo Stanton
Bench
C Christian Bethancourt
3B Mike Olt
2B Jedd Gyorko
RF Dominic Brown
CF Mason Williams
Noteable Prospects
SP Tyler Skaggs
SS Javier Baez
LF Starling Marte
3B Corey Seager
Young talented and hopefully good enough to take advantage of Coors, with hopefully a rotation and bullpen to out up some decent numbers...
Seattle Mariners - The Rotation
Rotation
Justin Verlander
Madison Bumgarner
Gio Gonzalez
Matt Harvey
Vance Worley
'Pen
CP Drew Storen
Jordan Walden
Bill Bray
Henry Rodriguez
Heath Hembree
Brett Cecil
Jacob Turner
In the field
C Pete Dogg
1B Mark Reynolds
2B Trevor Story
3B Miguel Sano
SS Jurikson Profar
OF Yasiel Puig
OF Desmond Jennings
OF Colby Rasmus
Bench
C Devin Mesoraco
2B Nick Franklin
3B Nolan Arenado
OF J.D. Martinez
OF Brett Jackson
Noteable Prospects
SP Archie Bradley
SP Casey Kelly
SS Addison Russell
2B Gordon Beckham
Stacked rotation should make scoring hard in Safeco... Hopefully enough young talent in the lineup to put up enough runs to support those guys...
It's hard to say which is my favourite, probably the Rockies by a hair, only because I prefer a stacked lineup to a stacked rotation... Let me know what you guys think, which is your favourite???
I know I, and now you only did 2 teams, but once i did one team from each division, that was an awesome draft, but it was tiresome, i just made some edits to my roster, so i might try something like that againComment

Re: Fantasy Draft Results Thread
Miggy is unfair in this game, and if you leave him on the tigers its insane, ive seen prince hit .320 50+ hr and 130+ rbi for 8 years, he won the MVP 6 years in a row, and cabrera is always there with .330 55+ and 120 its just insane, i might try and get them together in yankee stadium, i think that record would fall.Comment

Re: Fantasy Draft Results Thread
I do mostly sim franchises, I might play 1 or 2 games a season if I see a pitching matchup I like or if I really wanna try to beat a rival but I usually get about two seasons in then move on to a different idea... Most of the time I'll just play until I win a WS...
Yeah I had a beast of season, I was rated 99 ovr by then with 85 power from both sides so I was a bomb machine haha...Last edited by Pete_Dogg_18; 05-29-2013, 07:13 PM.RED SOX NATION!!!!Comment

That's a fun way to play. I prefer focusing on one. But to each their own.I do mostly sim franchises, I might play 1 or 2 games a season if I see a pitching matchup I like or if I really wanna try to beat a rival but I usually get about two seasons in then move on to a different idea... Don't tempt me haha... But that does seriously sound like a lot of work and as much as I love drafting I don't know if I could do it...the rockies outfield is sick, and that middle infield, in 3 years - holy moses. thats all i have to say about that. i think the rockies are a better overall team, but i would love to see the pitching numbers for safeco.

Re: Fantasy Draft Results Thread
thats why i did it, i love the draft more than anything, and using only one team always leaves you with those decisions (Posey vs. Trout) for your first pick so with 6 teams i had so much freedomComment

Re: Fantasy Draft Results Thread
Yeah good point, I'm not sure I could do 75 rounds for 6 teams though... I will probably give it a go one day, I'll let you know how badly I fail at it haha...RED SOX NATION!!!!Comment

Re: Fantasy Draft Results Thread
I always say this is he year I put Prince in the Bronx lol I jus can't choose Yankees. I feel there's added bonuses. Jus in my head I knowMiggy is unfair in this game, and if you leave him on the tigers its insane, ive seen prince hit .320 50+ hr and 130+ rbi for 8 years, he won the MVP 6 years in a row, and cabrera is always there with .330 55+ and 120 its just insane, i might try and get them together in yankee stadium, i think that record would fall.I play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.Comment

Re: Fantasy Draft Results Thread
I wanted to try a young team to develop talent and there were certain players I wanted to have on the team. I used the OSFM version 1 rosters and did a little bit of homework regarding where everyone goes. This is the team I drafted as best I can remember. I used the Tampa Bay Rays as my team because I wanted to say I managed their Triple A team from Durham, NC. I've been to that ballpark and it's amazing.
C Travis d'Arnaud
1B Paul Goldschmidt
2B Jurickson Profar
SS Manny Machado
3B Nolan Arenado
RF Jason Heyward
CF Oscar Taveras
LF Bryce Harper
DH Giancarlo Stanton
Backups were Chase Utley, Josh Rutledge, Gerardo Parra, and someone whose name is slipping my mind.
SP Matt Harvey
SP Michael Penada
SP Zach Wheeler?? Think his name was Zach
SP Michael Wacha
SP Danny Hultzen
RP Trevor Rosenthal
RP Carter Capps
RP Henry Rodriguez
RP Drew Storen
RP Kelvin Herrera
CP Bruce Rondon?? Think his name is Bruce. He's an 80 rated rookie with 99 velocity.
Triple A is stacked as well as my worst pitcher there is ranked 75 and all with A potential. Notables in the minors that I can remember are:
SP Dylan Bundy
SP Jose Fernandez
OF Starling Marte
OF Jackie Bradley Jr
SS Trevor Story
1B Yonder Alonso
SP Trevor Bauer
All in all a young team that I'm going to try to play with for a while. At least until the season is over and I can't resign them all hahaComment

Re: Fantasy Draft Results Thread
Suffer from Insomnia, so I was up late the other night and figured I would try something...
I used 30 team control and did a fantasy draft, but instead of random teams, I drafted each teams real life 25-man roster (took about 2 hours) and then auto picked the rest of the draft...prospects ended up on different teams and to say the results were interesting in an understatement.
A few to note....
BAL - Oscar Tavares
BOS - Francisco Lindor, Bruce Rondon
NYY - Yaseil Puig (he should hit like 40 HR by the time he is a full-timer)
TB - Billy Hamilton, Kyle Gibson
TOR - Bubba Starling, James Paxton
CWS - Jurickson Profar, Mike Olt
DET - Brett Jackson
MIN - Trevor Bauer, Henry Owens
CLE - Joc Pederson
KC - Jake Odorizzi
LAA - Jorge Soler, Jose Fernandez
TEX - Nick Franklin
OAK - Billy Hamilton, Archie Bradley
SEA - Zach Wheeler
HOU - Miguel Sano, Dylan Bundy
NYM - Danny Hultzen, Addison Russell
WAS - Tony Cingrani, Kolten Wong
PHI - Carlos Correa, Kevin Gausman
MIA - Wil Myers, Mike Zunino
ATL - Tijuan Walker, Gerrit Cole, Jameson Tallion (Braves continue to draft solid SP)
MIL - Nick Castellanos
CHC - Archie Bradley, Trevor Story
STL - Christian Yelich, Tyler Skaggs, Chris Archer
PIT - Xander Bogaerts, Mason Williams
CIN - Jackie Bradley Jr., Kyle Crick
ARI - Corey Hawkins, Gary Sanchez
SF - Travis d'Arnaud
LAD - Nolan Arenado, Matt Barnes
SD - Casey Kelly, Allen Webster
COL - Noah Syndergaard, Marcell Ozuna
of course, there are other A and B prospects I am forgetting but I was just listing the few that you guys are more familiar with. So I am setting 2 profiles, I am going to play as the Mets (maybe call up Addison Russell right away) and see how this plays out. It will be interesting to see who breaks camp with the big club, as the CPU tends to call up the higher rated players regardless of age and experience. I wouldn't be surprised if Puig, Wheeler and a few others are on their MLB rosters on OD.Comment
