Yea I know it was in. I was saying if they recorded the muskets fireing at New England and you said they recorded various other sounds. I was just making the assumption they'd skip anything that involves Buffalo.

Oh I don't know, hopefully not, it would be nice if they got stadium sounds for all 32 teams but I doubt it. We'll start to find out in 6 days.Comment

SMH@those cameras. Why would they get away from those? Game looks so much better than 13 in that aspect. That was in Madden 12 and at times I heard it in 13 but there were bugs that kept stadium songs from triggering.

Re: Madden NFL 25 Presentation Details, New Sideline Reporter Added (Name Not Reveale
As much as I am pounding the table with others for better AI, I do agree with these comments that the comparisons to other console games with AI just don't hold water. I don't know programming but I do know that no one in the community has been able to show that the level of AI people like me want is achievable on current Gen without cutting out a lot of other things in Madden.NBA 2K has 9 AI's on the court.
MLB the Show has about the same.
Madden has 21 player AI's.
I would also consider the requirement of a Madden AI to be much more complex than an AI in the Show. The AI in the Show has to move to a spot, catch a ball, then pick one of 5 locations where to throw. Madden AI have to account for many things all at the same time, that's football. They all have to identifiy the play, react, then react to all other 21 players and what they are doing, then make a split second decision if they are involved in the play. You're going to argue that's the same computing requirement?
Furthermore, you can find just as many complaints about the AI in those titles with a simple google search ('NBA2K11 Player AI' returns 3 links on the 1st page about bad teammate AI). I was referencing PC titles, such as Total War or Half Life, where the AI is considered some of the best ever written by gamers and media alike, not just "being better than Madden" which really isn't much of an achievement.
The original comment I quote has some caustic stuff in it I think is uncalled for so I'm not quoting that part.
All of this is why I'm thinking of hanging back on M25 until it's been out on new hardware to see how it plays out. On the one hand, my big issues are with CCF and game play AI and I doubt much will really get done on this with current hardware (hope I'm wrong!). On the other hand, I expect the new harware and game will need a very heavy does of patches and fixes, on the hardware firmware side and for the game itself, in order to work right. . . even if the AI issues turnout to be much better on nextgen.Comment

Give me a break. Gave dev's have been saying for over a year their titles are maxing out the consoles. Hardware is a problem.
This doesn't counter the argument no matter how many internet ragers like your post.
I understand football has a little more to deal with being 11 on 11.
But when I see AI go backwards from M12 to M13 I have to question what happened. For me core gameplay is critical. Everything else becomes bells and whistles and does not matter if I can't play a good game of Sim football against the CPU like I get on 12.
And don't sell Baseball and Basketball short. The Pitcher/batter AI and team management AI for The Show is really strong. I don't care what anyone else thinks. It is my opinion. Plenty of whiners in The Show forums and 2K forums....I am not part of that mob mentality. And I am a huge pioneer Madden supporter.
And 2K11's computer opponent AI was great. And has not been matched by that series since. 2K11's CPU AI was smart, knew when to double team, ran your plays correctly. it is widely considered one of the very best console sports games ever.
For me it was about the big steps backwards M13 took from 12. That is all.
I really hope M25 is awesome. I want an awesome football game for my PS3...still waiting for that awesome sauce! So far I have gotten some decent salsa (M12, NCAA 13) but that's it.Last edited by Armor and Sword; 06-04-2013, 01:19 PM.Now Playing on PS5:

I could overlook so many bugs if they got all 32 stadium sounds in!! Madden 11 had 6 fight songs, and they worked really well. That madden 12 audio is just terrible.
And I have a theory on the sideline reporter. If its Melissa stark, Steve Tasker, maybe Sterling Sharpe from NFl network, its going to be a great addition! If , and I mean when, its announced to be Erin Andrews, were all in trouble. Recylced NCAA sideline stuff if thats the case.
Just a theory though! Hoping for the best!!Bill-Playing Madden since '90, longing for 2K since 06.Comment

Forest from the trees man!
Yes a pitcher's AI is complex...but it's about simultaneous computing! It's why I disregard a comparison to a shooter because you can make a great AI for an individual boss sure...but make me a great AI when I have to face 21 bosses at once?

How could they recycle lines from NCAA with Erin Andrews for Madden 25? I highly doubt it would be her. I'm thinking it's most likely Tasker or Stark.I could overlook so many bugs if they got all 32 stadium sounds in!! Madden 11 had 6 fight songs, and they worked really well. I know man, I really hope 25 goes back to these and somehow adds more angles/replays and improves on them. At least go back to what we had in Madden 12 and then stay and improve from there in the future, don't go BACKWARDS again!Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Presentation Details, New Sideline Reporter Added (Name Not Reveale
I'm hoping it's Stark. Worked well last gen. Could also be Alex Flanagan since she was on the Extra Point show when they had it. All I really want is an expanded version of what last-gen had. The talk with the coaches pre-game and post halftime, injury updates, that's about it. Just stuff that's relevant to the game I'm playing.Comment

Don't worry, I hear you, even thought the others totally ignore your point. I've noticed non of them has addressed your actual point of how you go backwards in AI between 12 and 13..Comment

That might have something to do with the title of this threadComment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Presentation Details, New Sideline Reporter Added (Name Not Reveale
Are you speaking for everyone? Cause some did discuss and even tried to refute Armor & Sword's posts without actually addressing his issue of the AI going backwards. Whether this is outside of the thread title is another issue as it may be. But that didn't stop some from discussing this.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Presentation Details, New Sideline Reporter Added (Name Not Reveale
lol, you are mature and wise enough to know how it goes, never let the truth and facts get in the way of a good story. What's funny is, if I thought Madden was such a good game or was going to be, I couldn't care less what others thought. I would of course respect their opinion but it wouldn't bother me, nor would I feel compelled to change their mind. It's one thing if someone stated they like or don't like the game and then proceeds to articulate why to others, cool but when we get into the selective memory to support opinions, that's when I smh.
I haven't been satisfied with next-gen Madden for any considerable length of time in a long time and when I post about it, it's therapy, wrapped in constructive criticism, which beats screaming at the wall or just giving up on football gaming. However, I don't get frustrated with or feel the need to convert those that are satisfied with game, unless they try to imply there must be something wrong with me since I'm not.
On the topic of presentation, I get the impression that the creative minds behind it in Madden think emulating a broadcast is somehow boring and "old hat". That same disconnect was there even with Ian, in certain regards, when he would state things like "you want that in a video game?" I will never understand the seeming philosophy from Tiburon that they can do something better before every actually doing it right. That's the the impression I get from Mike Young with presentation, "of course we could easily do it just like a network broadcast but what fun would that be?" lolComment
