Dynasty - Coaching Tree (Feature I'd Like)

This is something that I'd really like to see implemented into NCAA 15 in the Dynasty Mode. It's not a Gameplay feature and it has nothing to do with appearance of the game. But I think it would add more Substance to Dynasty Mode and help you build your Coach's Legacy even more. Here is something I drafted up as an example:

It would be something that would monitor the success of the Coaches you mentored and worked over. Obviously the game version would look a lot more pretty but I just wanted to draw something up so it would be easier to explain. It's something that I've been wanting for the past two years because I constantly find myself going back to check on the success of my former coordinators. Guys like Walsh, Meyer and Stoops are all known for their coaching trees. I feel like it would be a perfect new addition to dynasty mode and it would give you a new goal to work on. Does this interest anyone else?

I would love for something like this to be in the game. I manually track all my former coaches as well.

I'm glad I'm not the only one on this. They could definitely have it tie into Coach Prestige some.

Seriously ... what an original, and excellent idea.

I've always wondered outside of W's and L's a way to increase the level at which coach prestige is measured, this is the perfect way.

Thanks! Hopefully this idea is something that will get a little bit of a following. I think it would be a great new feature for the next game now that the game is becoming more coach-centric.

56-4 damn! Great Great idea here works on many levels they definitely need to start making you feel more of a connection to your staff and this would help a lot.

Another thing I'd love to see is the occasional high awareness player who doesn't get drafted show up on your staff in some capacity

I like the Player Coach idea. Take for example Major Applewhite (Texas):

              1998-2001 - QB
              2005 - QB Coach (Syracuse)
              2006 - Offensive Coordinator (Rice)
              2007 - Offensive Coordinator (Alabama)
              2008 - 2010 - Assistant Head Coach/Running Back Coach (Texas)
              2011 - Present - Co-Offensive Coordinator/QB Coach (Texas)

Then that person would definitely be a major part of your Coaching Tree when they finally got that Head Coach job.

Do you have a Google spreadsheet that you could share?

For those of you that follow your coaches, do you get many coordinators? Thru 12 seasons of my Michigan Offline I lost OC Al Borges after a couple of seasons, but his replacement has been with me ever since and I still have my original DC Greg Mattison.

Through 11 seasons of my SMU OD I lost my DC after a couple of seasons (and hired Mark Dantonio of all people) but I still have my original OC and Dantonio has now been with me for 8 seasons.

Do you guys have your coordinators rotate more often than that?

Given that my teams are typically pretty successful, I'd say that I lose a Coordinator every 3-4 years. My defensive coordinators tend to get more jobs than my offensive coordinators do.

                      My Michigan:

                      and SMU:

teams have been exceptionally successful so it doesn't look like your coordinators will get offers because of your team's success.

Interesting. I wonder what it is that causes their success? Maybe their contract has to expire? This would be something nice to get an answer on.

Since I've had guys for 11-12 years (and every current guy for at least 8 years), obviously they've signed multiple extensions with my teams. We just hit players leaving in my SMU OD and Dantonio, who was MSU's HC for 3 years I think and who has A+ prestige, signed another extension with SMU.

That's crazy. I know that I've had three different Defensive Coordinators in my 7 year tenure at Texas. And in my other Dynasty with UL Monroe, I've lost two Offensive Coordinators and a Defensive Coordinator in 6 years.
