Re: 2013 Stanley Cup Final: Chicago Blackhawks vs. Boston Bruins
Has potential to be a great series. It appears that Chicago is starting to play the way everyone thought they would coming into the post season, and everything is going right for Boston.
And the NHL has to be happy as hell. Chicago and Boston; that's probably one of the Finals they would have wanted if they could have picked at the beginning of the season.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Well, this is awkward...Originally posted by XXstormmXXThe reason I always root for multiple teams is because if one team doesn't make the playoffs or gets eliminated, I loose interest in the sport until next season if my team gets eliminated early. The good thing is that Chicago's great PK won't matter because Boston's PP sucks already.Originally posted by XXstormmXXThe reason I always root for multiple teams is because if one team doesn't make the playoffs or gets eliminated, I loose interest in the sport until next season if my team gets eliminated early. Re: 2013 Stanley Cup Final: Chicago Blackhawks vs. Boston Bruins
I think Hawks will take advantage of home ice, but it will definitely be a 7-game series which Bruins could take just as well as the Hawks.NHL: Chicago Blackhawks
KHL: Dinamo Riga
NFL: Chicago Bears
MLB: Chicago Cubs
NBA: Orlando MagicComment

Re: 2013 Stanley Cup Final: Chicago Blackhawks vs. Boston Bruins
With the ever-degrading standard of officiating the Hawks have no chance at all; Bruins in 5.
If the game was called like it was after the '05 lockout, I still think the Bruins would have a chance in 6 or 7 games. They're incredibly deep, talented, have great goaltending, and are well coached.
But they're also very dirty. And in a world where no rules apply, the dirtiest team will always win.
Before the Bruins fans here jump down my throat, I'm not saying that the Bruins have only gotten this far because of poor officiating. I just don't think they would have ran through the previous two rounds with only 1 loss.
Also, as an NHL fan first, I really hope the NHL resets it's standard. I highly doubt it though.
As Larry Brooks pointed out, with so many obvious penalties being overlooked, this isn't a case of officials simply missing a call or two, the league has obviously mandated this standard of officiating down to all the officials (and probably coaches too).
In the past 2 playoff seasons, the NHL has had 45 games where the winning team has scored 2 goals or less.
Low scoring games can be exhilarating at times, but not when they happen this frequently.Comment

It sure looked like OP jumped to conclusions. Posting a period into what was a double OT game. Talk about a near-critical jinx.
Chicago will win. As usual, I don't pick number of games; see Bos/Tor and Bos/Pit as evidence.Comment

Re: 2013 Stanley Cup Final: Chicago Blackhawks vs. Boston Bruins
I'm excited for this series. I haven't predicted a Bruins series all playoffs, so why start now? I obviously think they can win though. I was at the Red Sox game last night, and there were numerous chants of "Let's Go Bruins!" and "We Want the Cup!" Between innings, fans in Bruins gear popped up on the video board. Boston needs this.Red Sox|Patriots|Celtics|UConnComment
