What Are Some Strategies To Beat The Heats In 2k13

When I play online people always pick the Heats....What are some good strategies to beat Miami besides the obvious which is stopping Lebron?

    1. What teams matches up with them well..?
    2. What matchup settings are good to use?
    3. What type of defense is good to play?
    4. Any good rotation for a particular team..?
    5. What tempo should I play...?

Any other questions I miss feel free to answer...

If they're the Heat user that likes to run around the perimeter and shoot pull up threes with Chalmers/Allen use 3-2 zone and manually guard them using the right stick "hands up" to force them into that jumping animation when they shoot.

If they're the Heat user that likes to rush in the paint with LeBron then throw doubles at them to get the ball out of his hands. Chances are they won't know how to use anyone else.

Have to judge the other person's play style... As previously stated a lot of people like to drive and kick.

So set defense to pressure shooters... or if they're abusing lebron, you can set to lock down the paint.

Also i like to mix in 2-3 zone occasionally when they drive and dish alot with lebron/dwade and user control the center...

A high tempo offense is only good if you can make shots when you dont get layups. I recommend a slower tempo while still looking to run the break.

Have to use a nice rotation because you want to keep your stars fresh as they're the primary scorers. Hopefully you have a decent scoring option off of the bench.

Teams that i think match up well are:
          Pacers
          Thunder
          Knicks
          Nets
          Spurs
          Bulls
          Nuggets
          T-Blazers
Basically anybody with a decent SF and a decent PG... with a good rebounder

If you're patient on offense and neutralize the other person from their "go-to" which tends to be cheese in quick matches and you'll be fine
I mostly use the trailblazers and whenever I come across the Heat i laugh... because 90% of people that use them dont understand basketball.
I'm more afraid of the Thunder to be honest
Well that's about all i can bestow upon you without actually talking to you. good luck man.

You can mix in a 3-2 zone but i dont recommend it as a primary defense... You gotta be able to stick with man to man... otherwise you leave shooters open... haslem/lewis off the bench can be deadly against a 3-2

Most people who use the Heat are looking for 3s on the wings and in the corners... not a ton from the top of the arc. So thats why I say 2-3.... and STAY AWAY from 1-3-1 ... any smart player will run a set play against that and put shooters in the corner.

I see why yall get blown out by the Heat Lol it's easy to stop them.

Sag off them give them jumpshots all day. Play moderate on ball on LeBron and Wade and sag off off ball. When playing them 1 on 1 sag off and give them jumpshots if LeBron and Wade is shooting jumpshots all day you did your job as a defense. Also make sure you get a good contest on there 3pt shooters. Let Chris Bosh kill you, shut down Wade and LBJ to the point where Bosh has wide open jumpers all game long as you get a contest you're good.

Play a slow tempo because you don't want to play Miami's high paced tempo, because they will run you of the building. But make sure you push when you have the chance to, because you don't want to play a halfcourt Miami defense for 48 minutes.

Also on PnRs go under and soft hedge both Wade and LBJ make them shoot jumpers off the PnR.

Well the first thing u gotta do when you're playing the Heats is to get em down to one Heat. Once you do that they can't win

The Grizzles are another team u can use.

Tony Allen can lockdown Wade or Lebron. Zach & Gasol will have their way with Miami's bigs inside.

for the bench take out Austin Daye put in Pondexter. Daye's shot animation is horrible.

Agreed. Lebron/Wade will get theirs no matter what, so its best to shut down Chalmers and Allen manually....and any of their 3pt shooters that you think will kill you. I prefer using man to man however, as smart Heat users will kill you if you use a zone.

Also, shoot 3's back like the Spurs tonight and the Dallas/Heat series 2011

Re: What Are Some Strategies To Beat The Heats In 2k13

This might sound crazy but I actually don't mind playing the heat one bit in online ranked. Reason being is that the vast majority of heat users I've played are very very predictable. The main strategy I see from Heat users is: 1. Drive with Lebron 2. Drive with Wade 3. Shoot 3 pointers with Ray Allen. Now, an intelligent 2k player with the Heat will obviously utilize more strategy than that. However at LEAST 8 out of 10 times I play the Heat, those 3 things are the primary method of attack. Obviously the Heat are really good in this game, but like every team, they do have weaknesses; and you need to attack these weaknesses to win. The most important thing you want to do is ALWAYS sag off of Lebron and Wade on defense. Neither of the 2 are prolific jump shooters, and if you can crowd the paint, and make them take jump shots you are good to go. I recommend setting your defensive settings to double lebron on drives for this reason. Aside from Lebron and Wade driving to the rim, the second best option for the Heat is 3 point shooting. Like others have said, you always need to be aware of where Ray Allen, Chalmers, Mike Miller, and Rashard Lewis are. If drives to the basket by Bron and Wade aren't working, you can almost be guaranteed, that you will see your opponent start looking for the 3 ball. Just remember to never lose track of those aforementioned 3 pt shooters on the floor; and always use RS to contest their shots. Whenever you are on offense, the main weaknesses to the Heat's defense is the post, point guard, and whatever position they have Ray Allen, or Mike Miller playing. I recommend feeding the ball down low and going to work on Miami's post players. Many times when you start doing this, and especially if you are having success, Heat users will collapse their defense and converge on your post players, which will allow you to kick out for jumpers. Aside from working the ball inside, if you are using a team with a PG that has size you will have an advantage over the smaller Miami PG's of Chalmers, and Norris Cole. Lebron, Dwade, and Battier are all very tough defenders to play against, so anytime your opponent inserts Ray Allen, or Mike Miller into the game, try and use the man that they are guarding to get some buckets on offense, as Allen and Miller are easy to score against.

Finally, the most important thing to keep in mind when playing against Heat users is: Efficiency. Any mistake that you make on offense you can expect the Heat to capitalize on. Being that it is so easy to score with the Heat in general, you will need to maximize every possession you have on offense to beat them. Any sloppy or careless passes on your end will most likely be converted into Heat buckets on the other end. You will have to learn to be patient and wait for the right shot opportunity. Against the Heat you will not only need to choose good shot selection, but also be able to pass up good shots in order to get great shots. So if you make a pass to a guy who's fairly open, make the extra pass to the guy who will be even more open for the shot. The Heat are very good, especially in the hands of a smart 2k player. However they are not Gods, and if you play patient, and smart you will eventually find yourself being able to beat them on a regular basis.

Hope that helps, and Good Luck!
