Reading through the comments, the funny thing is I think everyone is right, lol. Meaning this clip and impressions of next-gen as whole will likely come down to individual POV. Like for me I honestly don't expect greatness from M25 on the new consoles or even good really, I just want solid basics, if that makes sense.

I don't have a high bar for M25 on new consoles but I completely understand those who do.

if you compare this to the garbage EA released as a first "next-gen" game (now current-gen) on the 360 and ps3, this series has a bit of promise to it....first iterations of new systems are never that great. this one already looks pretty good. i can't wait to see what upgrades we'll see in the coming 2-3 years.

theyve been preparing for next gen for 2 years, allegedly. what i saw barely set itself apart from current gen. what were they doing for 2 years??

I don't really see anything earth shattering here.

I can see them now though in the bowels of the EA production studios.

DM: "How about we call it, 'Proform Impact Blocking System' and let's stamp it on the back of the box, and wham!"

JL: "That would be a good idea if I thought of it, but it's not. Let's call it 'Beta Block 2.0', yes, that's it"

DM: "Get the engineers on the horn. Did they fix that rain problem in Cleveland yet? Ok, we can package that as TWO new features"

Nothing will satisfy those who were not pleased with this teaser video.

Things that I thought were impressive and have been sorely lacking this last gen. Player movement was as fluid as I've ever seen. DL/OL interaction was pretty amazing, it looked realistic, it looked like a trench war and I think that is what they were going for and they captured it. There were pretty amazing details shown, crowd looked alive, tackling looked pretty good (gang tackle there that wasn't a hug a la pro tak).

I can't wait to see more.

I completely agree, obviously wait until we see more. But this looks very encouraging, I also think graphics are a BIG part of the experience so I am pleased.

Actual game play and replay views of game play must be the same thing to EA (but not to me). That said, I think I can get by with the PS3 version this year...but I do not fear next gen is going to suck right away like last time.

something else that bothered me was the player models still look off, they still cant get sleeves right and the 49ers metallic gold helmets are not properly represented. its still that flat tan colour instead. in all seriousness, even though thats nothing to do with gameplay, it says a whole lot about this dev team. if they cant get a helmet colour correct and they cant make sleeves look anything like they do in real life, what hope do we really have for a realistic game of football?

The locomotion looks a lot better but in Madden and even in the fifa stuff you can still see the feet sliding which is odd for this lifelike player movement they are selling, also I still saw the same canned animation blocks getting sucked together, nothing organic.

Not to mention the post td celebration is people just clapping and the same hands up animations we have had since Madden 07.

This looks just like a port over to me from what I have seen.

It's still largely animation based, and ratings don't appear to be as much of a factor. (I know it's early, but just my first impressions.) Justin Smith is getting manhandled by Alfred Morris, who was very average in pass protection last season.

I'm on board with the positive and skeptic comments in this thread, but I can't jive with a "ratings don't matter" comment based one play LOL.

Even if Alfred Morris is an average pass blocker, it's not unrealistic for him to step up and make a play. He may get rolled over the very next play -- that's the beauty of football.

Those Gifs having me change my tune a little bit. Foot-planting looks awesome. Though, the blocking still looks weird to me. Almost like a return (continuation?) of suction blocking.

when the players are straight-line running they still seem to glide over the field and their feet dont really interact with the ground.
im seeing the same old ugly animations weve been seeing since NCAA 07 on 360. that russel wilson throwing animation and that crackback block animation. woeful.
