Sure, perhaps the reason why EA skipped NCAA Football, Tiger's and NHL is because these will just be ported to the X1 and PS4. But at least, give us some details of what to expect for these products. Without news about NHL 14, I AM SO SKEPTICAL about getting this game. I guess for the first time I will not have get a new hockey game this year.

EA's E3 did not have NHL 14
I was so disappointed not seeing NHL 14 in EA's E3 presentation. Added to it, all the EA sports titles were shown not the gameplay but bunch of CGI's.

Re: EA's E3 did not have NHL 14
They are just going to put out nhl 13.5 same everything except for minor tweaks except for the fighting but its not exactly ground breaking ether. No more news about announcers or more presentation aspects. I think I'll wait for at least NHL 15 this next year maybe try madden its been quite a few years since I bought football at least madden 07. -
Re: EA's E3 did not have NHL 14
I've already decided I will not buy 14. It's sad but it's the first time in a very long time. There just isn't hardly any effort put into this game. Sure I may not have seen gameplay videos or this and that, but just as derektown said it will be 13.5. Hell the NHL series has felt like .5 increments every year since 09 so why would that change.
It's really just putting all of the facts and information we know together, you can just tell that this will not be anything big. They add fighting in. It's something simple but something so many wanted. Hardly a game changing feature especially when there are so many other issues. They add a new physics engine from FIFA 13. Easy to implement because it's simply borrowing from another game but tuning for hockey. Tuning the skating. It's changing a feature that is already in the game.
I know it's still early and most info. isn't released until the beginning of July, but we haven't heard about BAGM tuning, AI tuning, and other things, which I never expected them to change for 14 anyway. It's the last game of a system cycle with a small staff. That normally means very little effort on the current systems and more focus on the new consoles. They added easily developed features that the majority wanted. This is actually the first year that I am not even considering buying. Most years I say I'm on the fence but then buy into the hype. I am not even close to feeling that way this year.NHL-Minnesota Wild

Re: EA's E3 did not have NHL 14
I have had every single EA NHL game ever made. Sadly, I may be skipping this year as well. The fighting looks awesome. But if that's their main feature this year, then I am very concerned. The only other things were they fine-tuned the hitting and the skating. Judging by their feature reveal earlier, it looks like Be A Pro got all the love this year and Be A GM is going basically untouched. I strictly play Be A GM, so this is not good for me.NHL REVAMPED ROSTERS - CO-CREATORComment

Re: EA's E3 did not have NHL 14
Me too. In fact, I'd say a lot of things have even gotten worse. It was nice when you could edit the lines of each team in the league. It was also nice when they properly implemented the 50-contract limit. Players playing in the CHL should NOT count towards this limit, but they do in NHL 13 for some reason...I have had every single EA NHL game ever made. Sadly, I may be skipping this year as well. Re: EA's E3 did not have NHL 14
Exactly. They've (probably) been working on next-gen for a year now so everyone should expect only a slight upgrade from NHL13.They are just going to put out nhl 13.5 same everything except for minor tweaks except for the fighting but its not exactly ground breaking ether. No more news about announcers or more presentation aspects. Fighting will help some sales, but the gameplay will be mostly the same.Comment

Re: EA's E3 did not have NHL 14
This has been talked about already at length in other threads. With the support of current gen consoles for at least 2-3 years, you can bet NHL 16 will be the first FULLY supported next gen hockey title. NHL14 and NHL15 will be almost identical on both current/next gen consoles.Comment

Re: EA's E3 did not have NHL 14
I would hope that NHL15 will be a full effort. But you're probably right. This has been talked about already at length in other threads. It'll probably be like NHL07 where it's missing a tonne of the options that were available in the previous console.
But that's what EA does. NHL17 will tout 'broken glass' and NHL18 will brag about having 'goalie fights'.
I would hope that NHL15 will have all the bells and whistles of NHL14 as well as better graphics and much improved AI.
I'm so sick and tired of hearing about how limited current-gen is for proper AI programming.
There's no more excuses.
If I see the CPU gets cheats and boosts for NHL15, I'm done with EA hockey for life.
That'll prove without any doubts that EA is completely incapable of programming a hockey game with real intelligence.
NHL2K3 had it on the PS2. There's no reason EA can't make it happen in NHL15 on a console that's 2 generations newer and more powerful.Comment

Re: EA's E3 did not have NHL 14
Any/all NHL info will come out today from the E3 show floor. EA' Sports part of the press conference was dedicated to next-gen stuff. There should be plenty of video and hands-on soon.I was so disappointed not seeing NHL 14 in EA's E3 presentation.
