What? The 49ers helmets are still wrong
....
What do the 49ers need to do for them to fix the damn helmets...NFCCG 2 years back, Superbowl last year...they are one of the top 3 teams in the NFL...the least EA could do is get their helmets right.San Francisco 49ers

It sounds great , but we know better than to just assume they nailed it. We need to see the game play out to truly see if what they say is done accurately.
I hope they nailed it or come close, because what is listed sounds real good.Simply *Magic* Just click the link and Watch :)

This X100000. I was very encouraged by what I saw yesterday, but like many others I need to see more. I really like the teams focus and direction though.
I think my #1 concern is that the locomotion is just fixed for the ball carrier. What they showed with Marshawn looked phenomenal, but if it is just for the ball carrier and not every other player on the field then the locomotion upgrades are minimal. If this was a full scale re-write to locomtion (which it should be) this game will be light years better then Madden on this generation.Comment

In reference to the bold, the MLB in this gif really stood out to me. It's amazing how much basic stuff has been missing in Madden this gen and just seeing that defender plant and pivot instead of an instant change of direction is so refreshing. For me, it's the basic things like that and Willis using his hands in traffic that demonstrate how different this game should be.This X100000. Good grief, what is #76 doing? He's so far back, he's given the defender a direct lane to the QB.

#31 just stops the moment the blocking animation begins. Why would he want to push against a block instead of go after the ball carrier? I see the same canned animation issues where momentum and weight don't matter.Last edited by Broncos86; 06-11-2013, 09:06 AM.Comment

This was my take on that play I posted last night.Good grief, what is #76 doing? He's so far back, he's given the defender a direct lane to the QB.

the more I look at that part, the more I believe Merriweather needed to brace himself for the block, if not that lineman would have destroyed him. If this were current gen I would probably chalk it up to suction but considering the AI touted for Madden on the new consoles, I can buy into the possibility that the defender was using self preservation, lol.Comment

What stands out the most to me is seeing the OLineman actually being pushed back. Upon impact the DLineman has leverage and pushes him back. The OL then sort of re-anchors and then the animations play out. If there's a huge difference in strength I hope that the DL could just keep on pushing that OL back into the QB.In reference to the bold, the MLB in this gif really stood out to me. We'll see when we can get our hands on the game and see if a 0 str, 0 pbk kicker at OL could still hold up to a DL in pass pro.
Also, in the background you can see the DB with his eyes in the backfield, clearly in zone dropping to a purple zone, with his feet actually peddling onto the floor while the DB with the deep zone is doing the same.
Am concerned by what the LT is doing tho, that looked a bit dodgy.
Instances of suction concern me. I also don't hope every player has the awareness to jump over a guy on the floor, as that sort of awareness is what separates an AP from a Felix Jones. I also hope that there would be some animations where they could step over a guy like AP does here:Good grief, what is #76 doing? He's so far back, he's given the defender a direct lane to the QB.

- Just applying that to a goalline situation tho would be huge. Have guys trample and climb over bodies to get into the endzone being the difference between the top players and the not as good ones.
I think you're reaching there. I wish and hope you are right, but I doubt it. Looks like a stonewall block animation. They definitely need to work on stuff like that. It seems the physics will inform the outcome of animations but if the animation isn't there for guys in that situation to try and get an arm out or deflect the block, then it won't happen. This was my take on that play I posted last night.

When they said in the trenches, I think they meant that the bending pass rush animation will be there and lineplay will be improved, but it hasn't been expanded to blocking in other facets of the game... YET. I hope that with this creative team they build the game from the trenches out and introduce all the requisite animations and physics to all the nuanced yet vital, fundamental elements of the sport I love so much.
At the end of the day, this has provided HOPE more than anything. They have removed the excuses of hardware, mountains of bad code and inefficient programming while giving themselves a platform to create the game we should have had 4 years ago.
Yes, it is late as hell, but I'd rather it be late than never come.
The ball is in EA's court to not **** it up and deliver. Now its a waiting game.Comment

Re: Madden 25 Next-Gen Features Announced
Pre-Ordered, day one for me, I may just skip current gen altogether. I was blown away with their presentation and how they seemed to cater to the hardcore gamer in terms of quality and the fundamentals of the game. Its like they took everything we been saying this whole generation and gave it to us in their conference.
Now gameplay and features I cant speak on, but going off their show off last night, faith has been restored.Comment

When will we get some off the field features like whats in CF, Owner Mode etc? Will this game have everything Madden 25 current gen has or will it be a bare bones game like Madden 2006.Comment

Re: Some Madden NFL 25 Next-Gen Features Announced, New Screenshots Included
I'm really interested to see what current gen gameplay looks like, because based on what I have been told by people who played the game, most of this stuff they're talking about with next gen, line interactions, contextual awareness with LBs putting their hand on DEs to move around them, footplanting, is all in current gen as well. Obviously true step, 50x contextual awareness and some of the other features like dynamic crowds and sidelines is next gen only, but to me it almost seems like they are using a lot of current gen as a foundation as far as line play and contextual awareness.Comment

Ehhh, yeah, I think that's reaching. If he stays on his pursuit angle, the lineman would be blocking him in the back. Moreover, from the looks of that angle, he's the last line of defense. Run and dive at the feet, at least. This was my take on that play I posted last night.

Also, I've never seen anyone dive and slide solely on their cup before! :P Look at the defender who dives. His chest never hits the ground. Cup slide!Comment
