A tip to help us sort through things faster.

Typically depth charts a put up in a .pdf file, linking that rather than C&P it makes it easier.

Otherwise

Title your post with the team and keep one team for post. Depth charts ONLY. We don't need copy and pastes of rosters from team websites.

This will help us get input from the community easier. For larger teams like OSU, either ask to see our template (which if time is available we will gladly communicate it to you) or comment on alterations to pre-existing templates from fellow users (Keep it civil!). This also helps declutter everything for us.

I may seem like a newbie but I have been using operation sports rosters for years and I am also a CFB fanatic. I really do not like the idea of basing the ratings around stats. Stats do not tell the whole story, I think it is up to the expert fans of each respective team to give their opinion about the different ratings, from their the editors of the rosters can confirm these ratings with scouting reports and their own opinions of these players. Once again, STATS DO NOT GIVE AN ACCURATE DESCRIPTION OF A PLAYERS OVERALL.

That's the problem, every fan thinks they're an expert fan.

We don't do rating upgrades by stats, we research the players themselves, we watch them, and some of us have played football so we know what really is going on out there.

We aren't going to come on here and listen to every "expert" fan who thinks every player on their team is the greatest player in the NCAA. If we listened to every fan, every team would be 99 overalls.

So, trust me when I tell you, we aren't going to rate players just by their stats.

I am working on these as well...

I am familiar with Louisville, but not as much as a first hand fan. If anyone has or would like to do a template for them, I will use it.

Also, not all teams have been distributed through the team members. If you have a lower type school that you want done and want to make a template for it I will take care of it.

Not necessarily new to this board. Been following/dropping in every now and then but just starting to post. Posted a USC template in the template thread. Huge SC fan, huge CFB fan, huge HSFB guy, willing to help in any way possible. Pretty informed on Pac 12 and west coast football. Let me know anyway I can help or any templates you might need. Isn't it more prudent to wait until the actual rosters are released to post templates? Anyone with a computer can find the actual team roster in two seconds. However, it's the actual process of going through the EA roster and putting down the names in an order such that the actual roster creators can just go through line by line and put in the names without having to mess with EAs mistakes. That's what takes all the time.

In the grand scheme of things it might save times but it'd risk accuracy, there were a few phantom players in last years game that got through (or caught) because of this method. It helps to say, player x,y is 1/2 at this position, how can I reflect that in this roster, rather than player x and player z are the top two rated players, overrate a third stringer and underrate a second stringer. Naturally ratings aren't something we like to manipulate much, but it helps soothe things out to go into the process having an idea of a 2 deep, and especially for the smaller schools it isn't as easy as looking up a roster. UNLV had next to nothing on the internet last year and were extremely difficult to do, and other schools don't keep tabs on keeping their information up to date.

TL;DR
It helps to have centralized information and going into the project knowing what to expect, it might be a little faster to wait, but for accuracy sake getting these worked out now rather than later is a worthwhile endeavor.
