NCAA 14 Facemasks

Does anyone know if they are actually going to be updated this year? It may sound stupid, but I can't stand some of the facemasks they use in the game that no one wears. Any info is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Most people probably don't care lol, but I was curious if anyone knew anything concrete. From the few videos I've seen they still have a lot of the weird ones in the game.

No new info or pics that show new masks. Was hoping for more masks for the revo speed, and new helmets like the Xenith and the Revo 360. I doubt we see these till next gen

That's exactly what I'm looking for. I just wish they would take out the masks that no one wears anymore!!

Its been confirmed that the Revo 2-bar isnt in the game. So i think the helmets have not been updated.

Trust me you're not alone. Apparently it's a space issue. Not sure why they cant get rid of all that 90s equipment, the masks that nobody wears and also get rid of the old Schutt helmets. Just include the more current stuff if space is eeally an issue. Anyway, the gameplay looks pretty good this year. Maybe I'll actually spend more time playing the game this year than making equipment edits.

AFAIK the facemasks haven't really been touched. I know for a fact the revo 2 bar isn't in the game.

My guess is a lot of that old equipment is in the game because of their equipment generation algorithms.

Let's say half of those algorithms point to some goofy elbow pad. You can't remove the elbow pad without also changing those algorithms to account for that change, otherwise you break the game. I imagine manually removing those parts of the code is more work than they're willing/able to do at this point.

Thanks for the info. I hope that on the next gen consoles we see this finally update to a more modern look.

Ok, now we're getting somewhere, even though I dont have the slightest idea what this means. How is the artwork tangled up in the coding? So is the algorithm just a generic line which just needs a name inserted at the end of the line?

We will get all the new helmets we want once the next wave of new helmets come out. Once the RevSpeed helmets are out of date, we will get all the facemasks, and the newest version of Riddell's helmet with about 5 facemask options and 3 of them no one will wear. It's a vicious cycle. It's a big s*** sandwich..... and we all gotta take a bite.
