    Do you use Dynamic Ratings?

I was just wondering how everyone else likes dynamic ratings? I played a season with the Pirates in 2K12 and what I found was that the good players like McCutchen and Alvarez and Jones would often be on a hot streak while the bad players like McKenry etc. would often be on a cold streak. So after a while you end up with a situation where the really good players are hitting way above .300 while the ****ty players are around .200.
This year im doing a franchise with Oakland and I've noticed the same thing - the good players are hot while the bad players end up going cold and becoming practically useless at the plate. So now I'm thinking of turning off Dynamic Ratings.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with DR?

I play with DPR. I've noticed similar results. For my Royals franchise, Butler, Gordon, and Hosmer have usually been hot, while Escobar has only been the consistent cold hitter. Moustakas, Perez, and Francoeur, have rotated between hot and cold.

Yeah go figure that it would be the good players who good hot and the mediocre players that get cold.

Please let me know how it goes with it off. I'm thinking of making the change too.

I've played about 5 games with DPR off and so far I like it. I think that's the way to go.

My only complaint about DPR is how long the streaks go. For the Reds (exactly as stated above) Bruce, Votto, and Phillips have been "hot" all season while I think the ratings should return to normal after maybe a week or two no matter the performance on the field because its so rare for a player to stay super hot longer than that.

On the flip side I traded for Ben Revere and he's been cold most of the season despite continuing to hit about .310. Which seems silly to me.

It's strange but the streaks seem to be inconsistently applied. Basically there are no streaks at all until the beginning of June. Then half the players or more are given hot or cold streaks. They then carry the streaks for several weeks in some cases. I've also noticed that the attribute boosts fluctuate. For example you can be *really* hot in some cases an get a double boost. You will also see variable boots that work on both contact and power or just power for the same player.

My only gripe is that the streaks last fairly long and I don't think they're directly correlated to the performance. I don't have a problem with dynamic player ratings in general. Whether the stronger players get hot or not, the ratings will still govern their production, so the better rated players will nearly always play better.

That said I saw Nolan Reimold of the Orioles hit 41 homers in my first season. He has power ratings in the 70s and I don't think he was on a massive hot streak either. So there is some variability.

It could be different in each game/chise, but I don't see how they can justify hot streaks when there really isn't any game data in April. I could understand them starting in May maybe--I just haven't seen it.

The 2k13 franchise I'm playing now had hot/cold streaks beginning around the end of April.
I can understand why you guys would like to keep DPR on throughout the franchise coz I guess it does add some intrigue to what is a very long season. I just don't think it's really necessary; players will go hot and cold throughout the season anyway without the help/hindrance of ratings changes. By the end of the season I reckon the stats will be much more realistic without any alterations of player ratings from DPR. That's why I'm going to keep it off.

Re: Do you use Dynamic Ratings?

Hello guys, i just finished my 1st season with The dbacks and i played like 157 of the 162 games, i play with my own sliders witch are more difficult that legend, and i already posted my stats In The oficial franchise thread.

My answer is no, i dont use them and u shouldnt use DR. They change drastically The game, it generates a dumb circle that your top hitters with have 90+power almost aall The year and end up hitting many hrs and over .350, and regular players like willie bloomquist would never leave behind The cold thing.
Witch is stupid they will hit like .190 and if u need them to hit In a clutch situation they will fail this is dumb sometimes a bad player can hit a walk off hr.

Also whitout The DR The players still get hot and cold, i had one time that kubel got 6 hrs In 8 gms, and aaron hill going from .250 avg to .280 In a month.

Also really bad bad streaks, bloomquist was hitting .333 and ended The year with .270, same with The pitchers.

So if u ask me turn this off.

Nope, it negatively impacts game, especially in franchise, since i turned it off game-play feels better.
