Nope. Sure isn't. One of the most popular QB facemask of all time. I hate ea sports current gen gameplay anyways. So I was already not planning on buying it. But now I have no need to if I can't even make the players look how I want them to look.

That picture is from 1985. But South Carolina had a pretty good QB wear it his whole career from 2004-2007. There are still players that wear it in the nfl. But you are right. They are getting rid of the "normal" helmets all together. You can't even buy them in sports stores anymore.
It just screams "quarterback" it was the quarterback mask of the 80s and 90s. Idk how historic roster people are gonna do them now.
Also it sure looks better than those revo speed helmets. Gosh those things are uglyyy.Comment

Un-be-liev-able....I too am disappointed in the lack of equipment updates over a 3-4 year span...but to not buy a game...because of A facemask let alone a facemask that was from the 80's is just mind-boggling.
The NCAA Art Team sure needs to look into patching modern day equipment, because that "RAM space" excuse will not stand next gen.Comment

If someone says they aren't buying the game for a reason you think is dumb, don't worry about it and don't say anything that implies you disagree with it because its just going to start a useless fight. If you feel the game is worth buying, and they are being ignorant, so what.. its their loss if they decide not to buy the game and miss out. Sometimes its better to not say anything and just let an unpopular opinion be unpopular, instead of trying to poke fun or make others see things the same way you see them.Comment

Oh let me say this so I don't sound crazy, if the gameplay was top notch I would buy the game if it only had one facemask. But since ncaa gameplay current gen is so below my expectations as far as gameplay I was really hoping I could make my players my own to distract me from the gameplay.Comment

From watching a bunch of videos I think the gameplay in NCAA 14 looks much improved from NCAA 13. The equipment isn't a deal breaker for me, although it would have been nice to see that one facemask everyone wants.Comment

I refuse to believe that new kicker facemask is real. I honestly would've been ok with EA not touching facemasks at all than to add that atrocity, because what that says to me is, "Yea we didn't have enough RAM because we were too busy making our own facemasks...way cooler than that facemask that OS has been in an uproar about for a few years." I'm bummed, I really am, but if this game feels as good as it looks in the e3 videos, I'll get over it fairly quickly.Comment

I'm not saying his reason is dumb. I didn't really understand as to why people and Kingd803 weren't buying the game because of facemasks or a facemask of Dan Marino from the 80's.
Trust me, I've seen people say they weren't buying the game because of the video with LSU and T&AM and the quarterback was black so they refused to buy it from that video and I just roll my eyes and ignore it. In his case I can now see why he isn't buying the game and I don't see him as being crazy for not buying the game, because EA and Tiburon have let us down since coming into this gen, and they have not been setting the tone for people to give a reason to buy this game.
People playing the game want control, and they want to play it the way THEY want to play it. If it's not to their liking from last gen, then they have every right to be upset about little things such as a facemask or other things.Comment
