Re: NCAA Football 14 Demo is Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
Is anyone else only getting night games in the demo? I've seen videos of afternoon games, but to change the game time is grayed out for me. How are you guys getting this?Comment

One of the little things i love is the missed pitch. I went to pitch it and it hit the lineman in the stomach. Last year it would have been an automatic fumble recovery. But this time it bounced off of him and went back a few yards.Comment

I believe it's because it's using their Weather Channel plug-in. It's night time in most of the places the games are played, so the games are at Night. I was playing the Ohio vs. Michigan game around 3 when the demo was out, and it was sunny.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 14 Demo is Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
Very pleased with '14. I played as Michigan, and had a good game winning 10-0, AA, default sliders, slow speed, threshold at 40.
Only td was by me on a GLORIOUS 75 yard punt return TD by (#10 Gallon) that was my first touch with the ball. Special teams blocking is improved!
+ user running game is noticeably better. Couple of foot plant/change of directions were perfect.
+ I'm loving he stamina guage. At one point I was totally drained to red w/ my QB as I was scrambling, got popped and fumbled, but it squirted out of bounds, so no turnover.
+ I really enjoyed spying Braxton Miller, which I did as the user every play. I kept him in check pretty good overall, but he juked me out of my shoes twice. It definitely felt different containing a scrambling CPU QB.
+ Best, most surprising play of the game was a sack I suffered: My pocket collapsed, I was flushed out to the side and hit speed burst to gain a bit of separation as I was looking downfield, but to my surprise the DE dove at my feet and got a sack with a shoestring tackle. Awesomeness.
+ Balance between my stats and CPU were pretty close. Time of possession very close. I was 3/8 passing, but shoulda been 4/8 'cause my my HB dropping an easy pass on a short hitch. Miller was 5/10. 1 sack per team. (only turnover was a late CPU int at end of game)
+ loved that the CPU was calling, and hitting some quick screens.
- CPU seemed a bit frenetic, but I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that I jumped out early with the special teams TD, and since the quarters were so short, they were in hurry-up, 2 minute drill type of mode much of the game.

heartbreaking loss to tech. down 10-0 going into the 4th, i get the ball back and score. recover the onside kick, go down and kick a FG to tie with 15 seconds left. get the ball first in OT, held to a 25 yard FG, and then Tech scores on the first play cause the safety was late coming over on the go route.WESTERN ONTARIO MUSTANGS

Re: NCAA Football 14 Demo is Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
My early impressions - I'm just trying to enjoy the game right now, but here are my thoughts so far:
Menus are SO much better. Smooth, clean - this is a case where less is more.
Having said that, the "pop" sound it makes when you navigate may get annoying but it's not a big deal.
Colors stand out WAY more.
Intros are good to me, had somewhat of a broadcast feel. The in-game "montage" will be much more believable in conference play.
Playing as Michigan V. Ohio State, and you can tell the O-Line blocking is a LOT better than last year. Lineman actually look to drive downfield, open up holes, etc.
Players feel WAY heavier. I have it on normal and it moves like it's on Slow IMO, which is a good thing. Running the ball may take adjusting to initially because you most likely won't hit the edge like you're use to. Speed WILL kill in this game I think more than ever.
The Infinity Engine 2 looks better than M13, but it still doesn't look fluid at times. I think that's a tradeoff versus a more ragdoll effect. It is VERY realistic though, moreso than M13, especially when multiple players collide and are involved in tackles.
The ability to cut upfield can be SO effective if you time it right, especially against over pursuing defenders.
Ohio State had me on my heels early. Everything it seemed was effective. Stopping spread offenses will be challenging, especially the better teams.
And something really cool I haven't seen before in NCAA (and possibly any football game): Ohio State is on the Goal line, and the RB gets the handoff. He runs left and collides with my defender, breaking the tackle, but his left arm (ball in this arm) hits the Guard, and the ball squirts out while he's still running forward. I did end up recovering it...not sure if it's because of the physics or a glitch or something, but it was VERY cool IMO.Comment
