Artificial Intelligence and Attributes SHOULDN't mix

So here's the situation, I'm in MyCareer with the Blazers and were taking on the Lakers playing on HOF. See where I'm going? Yeah you do. Anyway, the way the difficulty is set up is hell. I don't have a problem with HOF, my problem is why do they feel the need to boost attributes when you up the difficulty?? That's a problem with many sports games today. The only increase should be smarter AI, meaning that each player should play as their real life counterpart would, just with increased AI.

I shouldn't see Chris Duhon and Jodie Meeks' [Expletive] continuously making 3s to the point that they are 8-9 combined from downtown. I shouldn't see Antawn Jamison being some kind of post-playing virtuoso that makes every shot in the post. Ron Artest shouldn't even be a pick pocket when he barely has any Sig Skills At some point, this [Expletive] gets ridiculous and quite frustrating.

And another thing, I shouldn't have to suffer with the stupidity of my teammates. They always tend to sag off of everybody on defense. They always seem so unaware when the ball's up for a rebound. And plus, with the way they miss shots, I'm forced to individually score 60, 70, 80+ every game.

Nick Young in this game is un-freaking-believable. He never misses a 3pt shot.

So is J.R. Smith. He dropped 83 on me in association.
They got the big fella down there inside, and if you slow the game down a lot he'll get into position. You know he gone bang you all night.-Ben Wallace on Shaquille O'Neal at halftime, game 5 of the 2004 NBA Finals. Hope nobody takes this out of context...

i just picked up NHL 13 last weekend and i like what they did.

        they have difficulty, slider/tuner

ontop of that they have a slider of

attribute effect **how important ratings are**
cpu ratings boost **how boosted the cpu ratings are**

2k should follow that difficutly/rating boost thing... make the CPU SMARTER with difficulty increase, make their ratings better with slider increase

That is the most irking thing ever about 2k. Since they can't improve their AI, they resort to making everyone who is a damn scrub a borderline all star and allstars to Lebron and Kobe and Kobe and Lebrons to gods. Get that attribute boost crap out of here! Sig skills made it worst.

That doesn't sound that bad. Artest can still steal and let's not pretend Jamison isn't pretty good in the post still. He's just being relegated to a spot-up shooter with the Lakers. But you're right, the AI is ramped up too much when you go up a difficulty. I am OK with it being extra hard to stop superstars or even specialists (like being ripped by ballhawks or torched by shooters...not Meeks or Duhon though lol), but scrubs are too good on HOF.

Kris Humphries made a few fadeaways from 20ft with 2 players guarding him the other day.

              I turned the game off.

I can't speak for 2K13 cuz I haven't gotten it, but this has been my biggest (maybe only?) complaint with NBA 2K for awhile.

I can get perfect releases on A quality shots and still clank and shoot under 50%, but the CPU AI can just drop in whatever shots they want. And even if they do shoot a realistic percentage, they get way too many offensive rebounds, giving them extra opportunities, the refs only put them on the line, and they never turn the ball over.

And I'm barely playing on All-Star!

Hall Of Fame mode has always been joke. In 2k12 it was just unbearable, however I've managed to somewhat tame it in 2k13. I usually win every game by 10-15 points with a few blowouts coming my way here and there.

I don't know if that has to do with me havig Dwight, Kobe and Gasol on my team though LOL.

Why do people play on Hall of Fame difficulty, and then bitch about the game "cheating" them?

                    smh...

Why do they play then complain on HOF? Ego.

Why do I play HOF? Its the hardest when it comes to user inputs (timing windows being smallest), so for me its all about having to master yourself, being that incorrect timings will have harsher outcomes then on lower levels.

I usually did not play on HOF in the past, but now that I have figured out how to negate the CPU attribute boost, its fair game to play against the CPU and now it comes down to 'stick skill' per se.

Good post, I was thinking the same thing... To each his own... I have tough games on All Star with sliders... I don't win every game and I'm in no way a master of the game either...

I just don't like when people set the game on the highest difficulty then complain lol.

I play on the highest difficulty because it brings me the best challenge, and sure I don't win every game either, but I had an opinion I felt I needed to share, and so I did. I know in my right mind that on HOF that every player should not be great, which is why I made this post in the 1st place. Not an attack on you, just being civil.
