    CPU Run Scored Ceiling

I've noticed this for the past few iteration so the game that the CPU has a "hidden" limit of runs scored. No matter what, the most the CPU will ever score is 8 runs. I've played over 100 games and never once seen the CPU go over that mark.

This is with default sliders, modified sliders, and difficulties at or above All-Star. I just can't for the life of me get them to put up big offensive numbers. I had one game where the CPU had 2 walks, 13 hits, and 5 home runs. But the most they could score was 8. Anyone else having this issue? I don't even know if you could call it an issue just and oddity.

I'm also willing to field some suggestions on how to improve the CPU offense. I've tracked my games and slider settings and everything is within MLB averages so it's not like the CPU is lacking hits or doubles overall. It's just strange to me.

I have yet to that game where I give up 12-15 runs.

This is not even remotely true. I've had my butt handed to me several times and lost games like 12 to 1... I've also won games where both the CPU and myself scored in double-digit amounts.

Yeah this is totally false. There is no hidden CPU scoring ceiling.

Bump that pitching difficulty up to HOF or Legend and see how that works for you. You could also drop some of your pitching sliders.

If it matters I use classic pitching. I noticed your sliders are for analog which I know can be a bit more unforgiving than classic. I'll try yours out and see if it makes a difference.

Just to clarify I'm not asserting that there's a bug or a true limit or anything like that. I'm just expressing an issue I've been facing this year and last year. I'm happy to hear that's not the case for you so I'll keep messing around...

          1. I have a hard time understanding why sliders wouldn't correct this. Like, really? Jacking the CPU hitting sliders and nerfing the HUM pitching sliders doesn't yield big offensive numbers for the CPU? Not even on Legend? How about lowering your pitchers' individual ratings, then? K/9, H/9, BB/9, etc.? Surely that would work.

          2. There's nothing cool, fun or entertaining about allowing a lot of runs. You're not missing anything. Trying to keep your team ERA under 3.5 or whatever is much more rewarding and enjoyable than subconsciously wishing you were getting plowed with a 15-run outburst by the CPU. Trust me, you don't want to allow 15+ runs or have a team ERA of 5.85 any more than you want to go 3-34 in a round of COD or Battlefield and roll with a 0.24 KDR.

Off the top of my head, there's three things I can think of related to this:

            1) Your team has a great pitching staff

            2) Your Pitch Consistency and/or Pitch Control sliders need to come down

            3) Your CPU hitting sliders need tweaking/need to be brought back to default

            4) You've just gotten really, really, really, really lucky and need to play more games.

You say you've played 100 games, but you also say you've played with default sliders, modified sliders, and on different difficulty levels. I'm assuming those 100+ games have been divided amongst all those qualifiers, ie you haven't played 100 games all with default sliders...

I normally don't concern myself with other people's sliders and what they are doing since everyone plays differently and prefers different things...

But with such a unique issue I can't imagine sliders not being involved here.

Yeah, the CPU has a eight-run scoring window...I sim the rest of the game after they put eight runs on me.

I think this is the big one that would help. It seems like most people really don't give up a lot of walks. In real life, in games where a team blows up for 10+ runs, it's a good bet they have a ton of walks.

I just played a Dodgers vs. SD game on All-Star where the Pad's put up 8 in the 1st-inn, then two more in the 2nd. I lost 11-8...

ugh I wish this were the case. In my Pirates franchise I allowed 27 runs in two games courtesy of a pair of James McDonald and Jeff Karstens starts.
