Re: CPU Always Picking Kick?
I always choose to kick, seems natural to me having the ball first to start the 2nd half. I thought nothing of it."Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory."Comment

Re: CPU Always Picking Kick?
Funny you bring this up, I was wondering the same thing. In 13, since I'm still playing it, the CPU usually picks to kick-off in beginning of game, it's weird no matter the match up they always choice to receive in the 2nd half.Comment

In years past it was always the opposite they always elected to receive and I hated that. In real life more often than not the winning team defers thus meaning they kick it.
I've seen the elect to receive a few times in the demo. I like how it is nowComment

Re: CPU Always Picking Kick?
Probably because this is the demo and they figure users want to go on offense first, especially with 3 minute quarters, play on heisman and kick you could spend the entire first half on defense.Moderator

Re: CPU Always Picking Kick?
Good point, I think people complained last year that the CPU was always getting the ball first so they changed it and now they never elect to receive. They need a new formula because right now the CPU never elects to receive the ball first.Comment

Re: CPU Always Picking Kick?
I think the selection of kick/receive should be based upon coach ratings. In other words, if a coach is particularly aggressive, i.e. as Oregon has been, they are going to want to receive and then ram the ball down your throat. However, if the coach is more conservative they would choose to defer to the second half (which is what the choice should be, not "kick", because at that point, technically the opposing team would have the choice of what to do in the second half, though obviously it's assumed they will receive). And as someone said, it should also vary depending on the matchup. Let's say a typically aggressive team is playing against a team they are outmatched against. They decide to defer to give themselves the ball in the second half. By no means should it be as random as it at least appears.Comment
