For me I have the most fun building up teams, after 2/3 years I can usually have the team as either a championship contender or set personnel wise for the better part of the next decade.
At that point I just sort of lose interest. I don't enjoy playing as dominant teams for very long. That's just me though. If you can play one association for the whole year, more power to you, that's cool too.
