Anyone playing Madden 09-13 on PS2?

People always mention how such and such feature was already on past gen Madden or how last gen was better in this and that respect.
Well, is there anyone that is currently playing Madden on Ps2 and if so, are there any advantages?
    What is franchise like?
Do you see holdouts? Trades? Realistic clock management? Are teams adjusting to your play mid-game? Custom playbooks allowed in franchise?

I uploaded this video back in 2010.

As of now only #9 and possibly #2 have made it into the current game. There are hints that the mini games might finally make a return this year based on screen shots.

I still prefer ps2 Madden over ps3, but the lack of online, no hd and the hassle of connecting the ps2 when I need my fix means I rarely play. Not to mention I've already logged thousands of games so its kinda run its course for me.

      So......
So many people love to mention what ps2 madden did/does right but barely anyone is currently playing it.

      Interesting!

The ability to have more control (#1 and 2 in your video) over the teams playbook really needs to come back. I want to run a 4-3 defense in my CCM (very simple request) and still can't figure out how to do it. I can manually change it before every game but during the practice situations I am stuck running the default D for my team. Just amazing they can get so many things wrong

When you create your coach set your playbook to what you want it to be, offensively and defensively. Find a team who runs the 4-3 and make that your defensive playbook or use the generic one

Still play Madden 09 for the original Xbox every offseason and currently playing it now. It's safe to say I spent more time with that version of the game than any on the PS3/360. So much more immersive and realistic, as performance really factors into progression.

Star players emerge from the late rounds and low ratings as long as they perform well and get enough playing time. Position battles during the preseason add unpredictability. Players boom and bust with much more frequency. Good performances during a Super Bowl run mean more to your ratings than putting up big numbers when you're 3-10. Even hiring the right coaching staff matters.

Not only that but I find the gameplay more engaging and organic. Michaels and Madden, despite sounding like they phoned commentary in, follow (basic) storylines surrounding your team (they'll sometimes mention a player's season stats, make generic comments about your team's offensive/defensive performance during the year or if someone's getting the start over another player due to benching or injury).

Sure, the game's engine and graphics may be dated, but it handles gameplay and Franchise a lot better than it currently does. It's still a lot of fun to play and, to me, is about as immersive as text sims like OOTP and Football Manager.

Come on!!!!!!!! we are 8 years into 2nd gen console after PS2,...so why in the world would anyone really want to be play madden that long ago,,,Really???
people can cry all the want to, but they no way madden on the PS2 is better then Madden 13 on ps3/360......if they was so great,..EA would be still making it today...that shows it's no where close to Maddens of today world...I only play video games for the sport games, and i been playing over 30 years, i drove 4 hours one time to buy Temo bowl on the sega the day it was release,

Still play 09 on my PS2 and love it. Gameplay is on point. The crowd sounds good and there are more stadium-specific sounds and chants than in the PS3 version.

Position battles give actual meaning to the preseason. The news wire has some good info from around the league and I love, love, love the pre-game scouting reports.

I brought out the ps2 Madden & NCAA 11. From Amazon, I bought 2 multi-taps and 6 more controllers for 30 bucks. We had a fun 4 on 4 game & played all day. The game play is still fun. The best part of those versions & NOT in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, is the Franchise Box scores for each game. One easy scroll down for all the game stats. The L1 for passers and then you have to scroll across on newer gen systems are too slow and boring. They should have a PDF format box score and stat tracker to email out. PC Football games from 1993 could do it...oh well

I agree and still play madden 12\ncaa 11 for ps2, the stat overlays and user stat keeping is something I wish they would bring back in both games.

I like Madden now but even Madden 04 has better features and game modes than today
