      Seriously great post.

I know, right? I remember back in the first preview and there was backlash over how ea said something like, "blocking logic was retooled, blocking was not revamped," then we get the demo and blocking is 1,000x better than anything I've seen this gen.

Now this, which I consider pretty cool and gives our lovely roster gurus even more to play with in the sandbox, I just can't wait for this game to come out man.

I am not sure what really changed. The coaches options still are very limited. If the below is what makes a coach unique.....dayum.

It's surprising that you're detailed-oriented enough to want correct stats for all coaches but you don't want updated and modern equipment for the players.. Something you might look at once or twice (don't tell me you would spend hours reading over every single coach's accomplishments) vs something you see every time you play a game (equipment)

just my opinion, not gonna post anymore about this since it seems to have struck more than one of your nerves

I wasn't aware that coaches not having the REVO SPEED helmet was a big deal. My apologies.

What makes them unique, in addition to what you posted and whatever "Specialty" means, is their level and coach skills. Who is the coach will matter now more than ever.

A gamechanger on TGT said specialty is "offensive" or "defensive" and will determine if they're hired as an OC or DC.

I was going to chime in on the OP, but the thread has been derailed from the OP.

So if you want to know the what will be the differences between the editing features for "Coach's" via EA's Editing and Xan's Editor, go over to the Dynasty Editor Thread or PM me.

There are some some Gameplay affects, as well as non-gameplay affects the Editor allows.

I thought that was in the game last year though? I always edited specialty for my tb coaches has the functionality changed in some way?

its a good first step but purely cosmetic at best when it comes to actually affecting what we see on the field.

a 3 pt boost here and there does not help on 4th and 5, where some coaches are known gamblers and some are known safe play punt it.

les miles is the same as saban in this game, rich rodrigues is the same as some first year coach in D2...

what they should give us is:

offense focus --- 4WR v 2WR& 2TE v west coast(rb catching out the back field) etc( pro v spread is too generic)
deep v intermediate v short pass attack
                        redzone aggressiveness jumbo v spread
ST aggressiveness, fakes trick play likelyhood etc

                        for D

                        blitz speciality=== LB v DB
                        COVERAGE MAN V ZONE
                        redzone ggressiveness, bump v loose,

there are so much more they could use so when i come to town to play i have to actually gameplay for what the team likes to do....

finally they realized that not every option runs the same option attack well the same should apply to every teams passing attack....

some teams are known dink dunk offenses while some are known air it out offenses...

the current aggressive/conservative does not work it appeared to until one of the patches in 13 then no matter what teams run random offenses...

teams have identities they are not as random as what we get

Well im one of those type that like realizm over all so this add so much more to this game. I like the fact the coaches that has been in the game and won gets their do. Now the underdogs we will truly see and knw y they were hired or fired.

I was looking for things like
zone or power run blocking scheme
1st, 2nd, third down tendency sliders for defense
Offensive scenarios like EA's gameplan thing (sorry forgot what it is called)
Aggressive or conservative at the end of half/games
4th down tendencies (punt or go for it)

The game of American football can really be broken down to scenarios and strategy at the coaching level. Yet we have very few sliders and no ability to create plays.

By comparison the game of basketball is very free flowing and can be played with minimal coaching.....yet those games have an amazing amount of coaching sliders.....

I guess I was hoping for way more control over the programs strategy and X's and O's.

Personally, I can't tell you what facemask anyone for LSU wears. But I know Les Miles' coaching stats.

There's a reason ESPN discusses what coaches have done in the past, and they never bring up when someone changes their facemask or is wearing a different style of cleat.
