    WHOA! Increasing Knuckleball Movement ruined my RTTS SP!? Where to stop,40-99?

    Jeez, my RTTS SP had a fantastic Knuckleball until I improved the Knuckle movement from the 40's all the way to 99 after 2 complete games. Now my guy is a BB machine and can't stay in the game deep because he's always battling a 2-0 or 3-1 count after horrible knuckleballs fly all over the place!

    I'm going to start over, can anyone help me with the attributes to increase in training? Where should I keep the Knuckle movement at, 30-40, or lower?

    Last time I gave him a knuckle-curve and 4-seam FB. I don't like the K-curve, what would you add? I only used it 4-5 times a game anyway. The 4-seam is great, but maybe I should switch to a low-moving sinker, splitter, 2-seam or running FB?

    If you like a certain pitch, please let me know how you have your attributes for each pitch set, at least on the movement side.

    For now I might just make a Knuckle with VERY little movement and all control, a 4-seam with max control, and maybe a 2-seam or cutter with good movement, good control and a lower speed.

    What are your thoughts on RTTS Knuckleballers in general? Having fun with your? Thx for any tips

    It sucks that it ruined your RTTS SP, however it did not ruined my RTTS SP, though.

      I like to pair the knuckler with a change. The knuckler and change look identical out of the hand, but the change drops straight down, either into or straight through the zone, whereas the knuckler does its thing.

        I created a new guy, LHP with sliders all the way on Stamina, Control and then Dominant Pitch. I just left knuckle movement at 30, only increasing his control. The difference is night and day. I gave him a sinker-ball and kept the 4-seam. The speeds are 60MPH, 79MPH sinker and 88MPH 4SFB, it's working out a lot better.

          Your sinker is essentially a circle change, though it probably moves less horizontally than a circle change does.

            Yeah, I noticed that it moves like a really subtle 2-seam FB or screwball, but it's hardly noticeable right now. I just got called up to AAA, haven't spent a lot of points on Sinker movement yet. It's gonna be a killer strike out pitch against righties.

            All this started because I saw the "Knuckleball!" documentary about/starring Dickey, Wakefield, Hough and Niekro. It was great, check it out if you haven't already.

              Just watched the documentary Knuckleball myself. Was a great film I thought. I hope someone else comes along with it with Dickey being the last active pitcher now. I am planning to make my own knuckler as well. Wanting to go the Dickey route with the faster knuckler.

                Shifty,

                I forgot I had copied down Tim Wakefields attributes from MLB12 for his repertoire. For his knuckler it was like this;

                Velocity - 43
                Control - 80
                Break - 84

                The speed should top out around 65 mph. See if this helps you out. I had totally for got I had this earlier. Hope it does help ya. I have the rest of his attributes/pitches written down as well if you want them.
