This is a 2K13 impressions thread. I don't have that game, and I don't understand your question. I don't play Franchise Mode. And I only play 2K12.

This game is horrible! My friend gave me his copy from the NBA/MLB 2K13 bundle....
First of all there's no changes from 2K12 other than the obvious roster update and Astros change.
Since there's no patch for the game its far worse than 2K12.
Game plays the same on the field as 2K12. Presentation is BUGGY as hell, Gary Thorne wss calling Chase Utley Ben Revere, and referring to Michael Young as Nelson Cruz.
If you must have the Astros in the AL, intetleague scheduled, 2012 history than understand what else you're getting.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: Operation Sports MLB 2K13 Community Impressions Thread
Finally picked up the game the other day for my XBOX 360. I'll post some in-depth thoughts once I play the game a little more, but I will say, it's not the atrocity that some folks are making it out to be.Comment

Make sure you let 2ksports know your disappointment with their lack of support on their baseball games

Re: Operation Sports MLB 2K13 Community Impressions Thread
I hope 2k understands that its their own fault for the fall of the mlb 2k series. If they only put in some sort of effort, like a little effort maybe it could have been save. But they chose to let it die, now we xbox users are screwed next year. Thanks 2k for costing me another 500 bucks because I am forced to go to the ps4 for the showComment

Re: Operation Sports MLB 2K13 Community Impressions Thread
I know this late, but here is my impression. I really enjoyed MLB2K13 as much as I have the past MLB2K games. What I mean I have nothing bad to report. My rating system is a little different than others. I basically rate the game on the overall enjoyment, and not for the little minor details. I rate this game as a 10 out of 10, because as stated I really enjoy the game.Comment

I definitely played this game for hundreds of hours. It's probably one of the most underrated sports games ever. Its not for those that want to count pixels, though.I know this late, but here is my impression. I really enjoyed MLB2K13 as much as I have the past MLB2K games. The game is seriously fun, and represents baseball in a very realistic way. Working the count matters, for both hitting and pitching. Fielding and baserunning controls are intuitive and the ratings produce realistic differentiation between players.
It was definitely among my favorite all-time sports games.Comment

Re: Operation Sports MLB 2K13 Community Impressions Thread
I just picked this game up for $13. I had owned 2K10 and 11 but took a two year break. It's a fun game. I think the negative comments on the series go overboard at times. The game isn't as smooth and has it's glitches but it is fun.
Just some positive impressions after three games.
1) I like the change in hitting. I got frustrated by the hitting in 2K11 being so rigid. You had to go the opposite way on outside pitches and couldn't pull them with power (also meant too many oppo-bombs). That seems to be a lot better.
2) Contact and power swing are closer together. Can't be certain of this but in the past it felt like there was a massive difference between contact and power. You can mash bombs with power swings too easily so I would tone down the power slider and as a result never hit home runs with a contact swing. I don't feel that is the case now. The gap seems to be closer which I approve of.
3) Just love the commentary. I missed that. The banter is fantastic as you can really tell these guys were doing it together and not just from a script. Comments about first pitch strikes and stats and graphics are great. Love the organ music too.
4) The game isn't that ugly. I think the player models are fine. I think the stadiums and colours look great. Transition animations and a lot of player faces ARE bad but I'm fine with it.
5) I love analog pitching. It's my favourite way to pitch ever. The different motions for each pitch keep the game fresh for me. The cpu also chases out of the zone more in this game which I like as well.
6) Love batter's eye. Helps me work walks and it differentiates the players more. It feels different when hitting with a good batter and a poor one. I like the slider at 25. Down there some of my weaker hitters never get tipped a pitch while Miguel Cabrera will get tipped a lot. It's a great feature.
7) Baserunning controls. I find the 2K system easy to use.
Negatives:
1) CPU management. It's just really, really bad. Some of the NL decisions are so bad I don't know if I could play an NL franchise (I love NL play and was thinking of the Nats).
a) I'm at bat with two outs and the cpu pitching with a man on second and the #7 hitter up to bat. They intentionally walk him. Why? He's not a good hitter and you don't need the double play ball. No point in putting an extra batter on. I could see it if you were trying to get to my pitcher but they weren't.
b) I'm up 3-2 and pitching at SF in the bottom of the 7th. The cpu has a man on third base with two outs and the pitcher come to bat. It's relief pitcher Lopez and the cpu leaves them in to hit! Why?! There is no reason not to pinch hit and I strike him out.
c) One run game and the cpu does not bring in the closer until after two outs in the 9th inning. Closers should pitch the entire 9th inning. I can live with this but the other two are bad.
2) There is a disconnect in hitting the baseball. For whatever reason I don't feel like I actually smoke a ball when I smoke a ball. It just doesn't feel right. I think this is one area in batting the Show does very well and is a definite weakness here.
3) Already mentioned the transition animations and player faces are bad. A lot of the All-Star players have good faces but other than them very generic and lacking in detail.
Overall though I've enjoyed my time with the game after a layoff. Will wait to start a franchise until later (still playing AC Black Flag) but I'm glad I got it. Well worth $13.
Question - is there a way to turn off the "no-doubt HR" camera? When I hit one (or the cpu) I just want to view the natural flight of the ball in the fielding camera. I've seen that once on a close one but on two no doubters it gave me a different angle. Kind of spoiled the moment and it doesn't show the flight of the ball the way I'd like. Thanks.Comment

Really? this game is a nice deal at $13 and isn't horrid but the parks leave little to be desired, sometimes I was wondering If I was in a minor league ballpark in some placesComment

Pretty sure if you go into the presentation settings and switch off clutch moments then you won't get the no doubt HR cut scene.Comment
