    RA Dickey

I wanted to get your guys opinion of him in the game.

I don't like him. The ONLY thing that makes him good is his knuckleball. He has 3 pitching options but the 2 seam and fastball are bad.

I understand that. But you can't throw a knuckleball the entire game. His fastball is 86-87!

That's actually being generous. His fastball/sinker have been in the 80-82mph range this season. He's also thrown the knuckleball almost 90% of the time so it's realistic to just throw that every time.

I agree with the two previous posters...RA Dickey will be boring to pitch with...but he does seem to throw that 2 seamer low and away to dangerous LH batters, to get them to chase....just don't throw it over the zone

RA made it into the majors thanks to his Knuckle Ball. The guy doesn't even have a UCL.

Dickey didn't have the knuckle ball when he started, gradually worked on it...he is a pitcher, not a thrower

Cy Young....must be doing something right, huh

I like Dickey, but when he first got drafted he got screened and found out he had no UCL so they dropped him. He worked on his Knuckle Ball because he couldn't pitch his Fastball as good as anyone else and it helped him get back into the majors. He shouldn't even be able to throw any pitch without a UCL, let alone a Knuckler. He's awesome.

He had a rough career being a Knuckleballer, like Tim Wakefield. No one in the majors took Knuckleballers seriously because the pitch was so unpredictable.

And Dickey is rocking it right now against Detroit!

Dickey is good to use, if you're playing as the Blue Jays. Use the knuckleball and get 2 strikes on a hitter, then throw the other pitches out of the zone and try to get the hitter to chase. I enjoyed the one time I used him, because I could easily get 2 strikes on the hitter. It took me an inning to figure out how to pitch with him though.

Don't own 2k13 but I own 2k12 and the thing I don't like about pitchers like Dickey is that Dickey only got one knuckler. In reality he has more or less two knucklers. A slower one in the mid 60s and a faster one in the mid 70s. It would be nice to have this options ingame, but they don't allow us to assign the same pitch two times.

They have a knuckle curve and a knuckler. If you want a faster and slower knuckle, choosing both would be the way to go.

It would be kind of a workaround. That's right. Too bad both pitches break entirely different ingame regarding the animation.

I can't throw that Knuckleball without getting a bad gesture all the time.
