Is there a sim way of beating off ball man defense?

I use Pacers and Bucks online quick match. I can deal with most cheese, (even Miami Heat users and also zone users), but I have trouble with players that use man defense but control the off ball guy all game. I had some success using pick and rolls against this defense. Any other tips on beating that defense.

Try to attack the guy he's controlling. A lot of people offball with the bigs, so you can do a lot of lead passes to your own bigs. Very easy trick to getting easy buckets inside.

If they are not using bigs as there offball defender, post up with your big. So many ways to score in the post if you have a decent low post player. The up and under cheese is a great way to force people to play on ball. (I know it's not sim but it'll force them change the way they def)

Again, if they offball your post action and bring their second big man to help, lead pass the big man they left open.

Or you can just run plays for the person they are guarding.

I like using the Pacers online too as well as the Kings. I run plays, which creates movement so they can't just camp down low with the bigs. This way it is very easy to exploit who they are guarding.

Whether you are playing someone that plays on ball or off ball defense, you can beat them with good offense. I don't see why you feel you have to change the way you play just because someone plays on ball or off ball. It's still defense and you can beat either one.

Playing offline helps, especially if you can compete against the higher difficulties. Once you learn how to break the AI on Superstar or Hall of Fame, playing against the default online setting is easier.

People who play offball are openly admitting they aren't confident in their ability to guard. So you just attack the player they're controlling. It's been said already but it's really as simple as that. They're playing off ball for a reason, attack them and you'll see why.

I don't understand all the problems with off ball defense. If they're playin off ball every shot over the CPU is money on hall of fame

most off ball players will switch to someone else once you try to attack the man they are controlling.

I have to disagree. I play off-ball at times because of the lack of rotation and help defense in online play. Defenders also react slower than ballhandlers, which only compounds the defensive issues. Not only is there a good chance my guy will blow by me with even the simplest moves, but I can't even count on teammates to play help defense or defend the basket.

It's like defenders online have that Carlos Boozer fake defense syndrome.

I play 95% on-ball but sometimes if my opponent is openly abusing westbrook or rose I'll switch to a big to come over and help on the drive.

It takes a lot of practice to be good at on-ball defense in this game, but one thing I've learned is to never jump and always just hold up on the right stick to defend shots.

This works really well if your opponent is running around the three point line..
