Sound and Atmosphere - is great w/True 5.1 Speakers

I see a lot of people saying that the atmosphere is stale and somewhat non existent, with a good set of TRUE 5.1 headphones this game sounds amazing, the fans - music - on the field everything. If you are trying to hear everything with a 2.0 speaker system, it's not going to sound good, I have these two sound systems, and both sound incredibly immersive with this game.

Remember this game, is completely coded for 5.1 surround sound. If you turn the announcers down to 35 and the PA to 96 and the field to 93, this game comes alive with a good set of audio equipment.

I have mine hooked up via a 5.1 system too. I wouldn't be able to go back to regular TV speakers now. Of course, I think all games sound better with 5.1, just my opinion.

That's great when there's something to hear. I wonder how that silence is in 5.1? This game is amazing when the crowds are alive and you feel like you're actually playing in front of thousands of fans.

But the dead areas that continue to plage this series is just mind blowing.

I also love it when the players talk. "Screen! Screen!" "Draw! Draw!" And on third down "Lets get off the field D!"

I agree. I have a bose system and it sounds great....a few dead areas, but not enough for it to be a game killer.

Got solid reviews, seems to be a good bang for the buck (giggty) and it'll sound a lot better then my tv speakers =)

Plus it'll be cool to hear the crowd go silent when I beat teams on the road in College Gameday

Ya I Have no problem with the sound in this game. I have a 3-2-1 Bose and it makes the game come to life for me. After a big play the band starts playing gets me jacked. I mean sometimes people are just hard to please I been to plenty of Wisconsin Badger games and theres been times with dead air throughout the game.Could it be better? Yes but nothing is gonna be perfect in this series EVER!!!! Until there's a different college product out there.

I'm looking to get in on this, a surround sound or sound bar with 5.1, nothing to expensive. I've looked on amazon and saw some things I don't have great Internet connection where I am at, if anybody has any suggestion it would be greatly appreciated!

This is the system I have in my bedroom -

I'm sure that you can get a far better system but if you are not looking to spend a lot of money as I wasn't when I got it then I think this may fit your needs. To me it sounds great but I don't have anything to compare it to.

But do speakers make the crowd noise swell dynamically in the midst of a big play (return, long run, wide open pass, etc)?

Do the speakers make the crowd react to a holding call against the away team to negate a touchdown?

Do the speakers make the crowd cheer loud throughout a pick six from one end of the field to the next?

Do the speakers make the crowd cheer touchdowns differently than other big plays?

My point is that the crowd can sound pretty good, even without good speakers during the planned times when they get loud. But the problem with the atmosphere is that the awareness of the crowd is pretty awful, so they don't cheer when they are supposed to or react dynamically while a play is still going on. Too many times I score a touchdown and their cheering is still monotone.

Increasing the volume, or surrounding me with that sound doesn't fix that.

Appreciate the suggestions for intensity, but the issues I have with the crowd can only be fixed by EA themselves.
