Really it has more to deal with hoping that these weren't going to be an issue again. Not a game killer but a disappointment. That is the point. I mean are you genuinely interested in figuring out the underlying meaning between my two posts or what.

+ Nice new tackle and catching animations.
+ Decent new presentation stuff
+ Much better job with the option.

- Crash like bandicoot. I'm up to 8 crashes in 2 days. (Instead of 3 because of the great Canadian rip off.)
- None of the new presentation stuff is in HC/RtG.
- Play calling in HC/RtG still absolutely atrocious. They call stick 90% of the time,four verticals 5% of the time,slot drive 2%,curls 2% and 1% for anything else. Extra plays are no help because it's the same thing. I've had to make my own plays with hot routes most of the time.
- No improvement to overall feel or realism.
- Not $60 worth of improvement.

I've played the snot out of the early release. I'm not an avid gamer but I've been playing sports video games since... forever. I'm 38 and mostly enjoy FIFA and Tiger Woods but each year I always get either NCAA or Madden.

I am absolutely enjoying this game. Best yet in my opinion. I'm playing on Heisman with some slider modifiers (QBA down to 5, increase pass coverage, increased CPU RB ability, decrease CPU run blocking, and a few others). I can post my specific sliders if anyone is interested but I'm getting some fantastic games! I'm loosing when I should and I'm winning when I think I deserve to.

My only moderate complaints are that I feel zone defense is unusable and the background imagery is very jaggy. I went back and played NCAA 11 with my son and the crowd imagery is FAR better in that version. I'm guessing they had to skimp on this in more current releases due to using more system resources on more critical gameplay type items. Again - a very minor issue for me.

I think the sliders really work on this game and allow you to tweak it in such a way that it can play to whatever level you are comfortable. I like a challenge so I'll always push it to where I have to play really well to win. But at the same time I don't want to make it impossible to beat a severely inferior team. I think I've found that balance so I'm happy.

I'll be buying this one on release day.

Every one is always entitled to their own opinion but I honestly feel like a lot of the complaints that I'm reading on here are from people that just expect TOO much from a game. I'm having fun and that's what it's all about.

No logic my good friend, just posting some bits and pieces that either frustrate me to no end or excite me. I am reserving an honest review a couple of days past Tuesday so I have some time playing the hard copy version as well as an opening day patch which I am sure will drop.

The game is just broken for me. It has frozen my 360 so many times. I hope they can figure out what is causing this because if not I'm going to have to sit this year out.

Zone aggressive adjustment is screwing a pretty great game up. It's always just one thing with EA. I thought someone interviewed Josh H about the DB Glitch - well the formula for the DB Glitch stems from the nucleus that is the Aggressive Zone coverage adjustment.

Try for yourself:

Around the 3rd quarter, pause game - settings and select sides. Switch to CPU and then in the play select screen press L1 (adjustments) and see the defense is set to Coverage = Aggressive. Notice it is the only value that has been changed, nothing else.

I'm still testing for a fix - but this is the exact reason the DB glitch occured in NCAA 13 - and has been around in NCAA 12 (possibly 11). I'm posting this in the bug thread - doubt it will be looked at, but hopefully it will gain ground before the next damn game is out.

*Fingers crossed* Day 1 patch? Maybe? Hopefully? Otherwise I'm really enjoying the game so far, but I'm apprehensive about getting too involved if I'm going to start seeing wide open deep passes again like I did in 13.

Tiburon knows about the bug. For some reason over the course of the development cycle they FAILED to address it.

It blows me away that people let them get away with this garbage. I have to say that, while thankful for the pre release interviews, podcast, and videos, I have to blame a lot of the creators of those releases. When is anyone, anywhere, from any site gonna man up and ask these devs the questions that need to be answered and not let them dance around them.

Ben, the new features and IE2, and everything sound great, but what has been done to fix the problems with the GOD AWFUL zone defense???? It was a problem last year and it's STILL a problem in the early release this year! WHYYYYY?!?!?!?!?!?!

Huh? It's been an issue for OVER A YEAR and you guys ignored it! Why should we think you're going to fix it now?!?!?

Zone defense is so useless. I will get this game because I love college football, but the lack of the ability to play defense ruins the experience for me. I'm sick of getting shredded on D because the player's AI is so stupid and ineffective.
