Credit Card Points = Games and Game systems

Many people are strapped for cash these days, but you can still get games and gaming systems. I have a credit card that offers me points for all purchases. I buy everything and I mean everything on my credit card, rent, gas for my car, cable, food etc. Any given month, you spend hundreds maybe thousands on living expenses. Imagine accumulating those points. Now use them for gaming.

I've done this for years and its earned me free flat screen TVs, games, and consoles. I just saw that the Xbox and PS4 are available for preorder through my credit cards catalog, and I can get either or both because I have enough points.

Just sharing knowledge with my fellow gamers. Maybe it helps someone save money.

^What he said, I own one credit card and have only ever used it once. I pay cash/use my debit card for everything and feel like I may be missing out on chances to get something back for spending money.

Yeah people are definitely missing out. For example, I've got a Chase Amazon credit card that accumulates points on purchases. You then use that card to make purchases on Amazon using those points. I've probably gotten thousands of dollars worth of free stuff on Amazon.

I mean it's money you're going to spend on gas, rent/mortgage, etc anyways. You might as well get free stuff for it. I know people who have credit cards and use points for free flights and such. There are a ton of cards that use point systems. Just do some online research. I use the Amazon card because I literally buy anything and everything on there because of the no tax here. It's the best bang for your buck.

Most of my cards have rewards but I've never seen something you can pre order a game system or buy video games.

For example, with Chase Amazon credit card when I purchase something on Amazon it will ask if I want to use the points toward the purchase.

            It looks like this:

            Amazon.com Visa ending in XXX
            10,138 points available
            ($101.38 on Amazon.com)
_ Use maximum points available $101.38 (10,138 points)
            _ Choose a different amount
            _ Do not apply points

How much do you get back with the Chase Amazon card?

I have a basic Discover card. I get 1% cash back on everything. Plus 5% on different items per yearly quarter. July - September is 5% back on gas. Last year October - December was online purchases. You could also use your cashback directly on Amazon. Some items also are free two day shipping if you use a Discover card.

                3 points per $1 spent at Amazon.com
2 points per $1 spent at gas station, restaurant and drugstores
1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases

Every 100 points = $1.00 towards your purchase

I have an Amex blue. They have an online store that is linked to all the major stores, target, Walmart, Home Depot etc, and I use points to order my items. They have the game consoles listed already.

The process is very similar to what Sidvish described. I can even use points to make purchases on Amazon too.

American Express sometimes offers 3x times the points during promotions.

Thats not even the best credit card for Amazon.

You can use the Chase Ink Cash credit card which gives 5% on office supply stores. Go to Staples or another office supply stores and buy Amazon gift cards. The 5% is up to an annual spending of $25,000 a year.

Also I believe the 3 points are only if you buy it from Amazon and not one of their 3rd party items that is sold on amazon.com

I love my Chase Freedom card. I've received well over $1,000 cash back on items I would have bought anyways. I typically put the rewards to my account balance.

I have Amazon prime and it allowed me to link my rewards to my Amazon account. I just used it on NCAA 14 so I'm not coming out of pocket for it and I still have like $20 in rewards. I'll just let them build up and use them for Amazon purchases.

I always end up using my points on stuff I absolutely don't need, but want anyways. I now own a horse mask -_-
