Offseason coaching carousel
Why don't I have a say in my new OC and DC? I am the head coach, and both of my guys left for better jobs. I was not able to hire new people. The CPU auto picked for me, and they were terrible hires.

Re: Offseason coaching carousel
They are auto reset. But still, I should be given the chance to make the hire. I could have found someone better than what it hired. The guy that left had a level 6, guy coming in was level 4.
I re loaded and re ran, to see if would make the same choice. Nope. Second guy was level 9.
I would still like to make the call myself though. Not sure why this wasn't changed.

Re: Offseason coaching carousel
because EA has to implement throw away features like: Season Showdown, that thing last year with the heisman winners, Ultimate team
that's why coaching carousel is shallow and broken, really head coaches still take coordinator positions, has this ever happened in the 100+ year history of college football?
it should be this simple
if( IsHeadCoach(currentJob) && IsCoordinator(offeredJob) ) return false ;Comment

Re: Offseason coaching carousel
Agreed, would be nice if you got some input as to who got hired. Also, is it just me or if you get offered a new job can you not look at the roster of the team that wants to hire you anymore? Makes it hard to want to pick a school if you don't know what's waiting for you.Comment

This product seems kinda rushed to me. There are half systems all over the place in this game. Things they didn't fully implement, and things they meant to remove that they didn't fully take out.
This is what happens when you have no competition. You can put out what ever you want and people will buy it.

Re: Offseason coaching carousel
I have a specific question if anyone will indulge me. Me and a few of my friends are starting a online dynasty with the bottomest of the barrel teams. Has anyone tried this yet and how long/what was your record until you begin getting higher HC offers?Comment

Re: Offseason coaching carousel
i also start out as a 1 star coordinator and work my way up. i always fullfill my first contract with any new team. might be a 1 year or a 4 year contract. you never know. the only way i dont is if the head coach leaves for better job(you can take head job if offered) or if the head coach is fired you must take a new job also. ill test this some tonight as ill have the retail copy today. i imagine it might be a little tough this year. for example last year i ran with Texas state. had a 4 year contract but was offered some good jobs after second year as a head coach. i took the oc job at Boston College for year 5 (i must be a coordinator for 8 seasons before i can take a head job). was there for two years as coordinator (won NC in second year) the head coach took a job a Pitt (idk why) i left to go to USF as O coordinator as I was only offered three BCS level oc jobs. (later in the season last year it was harder to get goods jobs as a coordinator) spent two years there and was offered lots of good hc jobs each year. I then took over as head coach at UL of Lafayette. (must take first head coaching job at a non bcs school unless you spend 12 years as coordinator-then only 3 star or below). this is another rule i use.
it shouldnt take long. i try to stretch it out because i play alone and when your a coordinator i can finish a season a week because games are short. no special teams or defense.
with the better logic i might not have to self impost so many rules. but yet to be seen.
i would guess that within 3 season one of you will have a offer to a good school who had a down year.
from ULL after two season (contract length) i went to USM on a one year deal. then went to Northwestern for 3 and planned on staying but the big Lights of Texas drew me back. Took over at Texas and for some reason lost all interest.Last edited by thelasthurtknee; 07-08-2013, 10:24 AM.Comment

Re: Offseason coaching carousel
But wasn't he fired? I think what they are saying is a current head coach takes a job as a coordinator in the game. IE leaves their current position as a head coach willingly to take a coordinator job... not taking one after being fired or forced to resign.Follow me on Twitter @cavemangamer

Re: Offseason coaching carousel
So, if I am reading this thread right, if I am a head coach and my OC leaves to become a head coach somewhere else, I don't get to hire a new OC? The CPU just randomly assigns one?Follow me on Twitter @cavemangamer

Re: Offseason coaching carousel
That is correct. It will give you one appropriate for your HC Coaching level, but you don't have say in the exact one you get. He might have more or less points than the one you lost, but you can still reassign the points he does have.Comment
