I've made 3 forum posts and I still can't make a dynasty or blog entry for some reason.

Its a number, what number exactly? That's not going to be made public. Continue to be active and you'll be capable of using the blog and dynasty.

This is really annoying to be honest. I came here for a specific purpose that required making a thread. I didn't realize I had to make token posts and wait a week to do so.

Then perhaps you should actually read the TOS you agreed to which contains:

          New User Posting
All new users have a 'probationary period' in which they will not be able to create new threads or send private messages to other users. You must reply to threads until this period is finished. The period is a set number of days AND a set number of posts. These numbers are not disclosed, as we do not want people posting just to get past their probationary period.

Also it's not about making "token" posts. It's about being part of the OS community and not a drive by poster who usually has an outside agenda.

Have to be honest, this is a bit frustrating for me. I like using Operation Sports' forums, reading information on here, etc, especially about slider sets and rosters for NCAA. However, I'm pretty new to the series, and I don't often have a lot of helpful things to say on a topic. There have been a couple of times, though, where I have wanted to ask questions about the game on the forums, but couldn't, because I could only reply to threads, and I wasn't interested in derailing a thread with a tangentially-related question. It's a well-intentioned policy, for sure, and I'm sure it keeps out a lot of one-and-done posters, I guess for a usually quiet lurker type like me I happen to be caught on the wrong side of it.

Every game usually has a Q/A thread already or an impressions thread where you can ask a question about the game. Don't really need a new thread popping up for each question.

The staff is just trying to keep this place from going crazy with spam and needless threads. Like Skyboxer said, use the Q/A threads for something or reply to one of the threads in Steve's Forum. Even when you can post threads, I would still use these strategies first.

Most of the time, if people would take the time to read the Q&A threads, their question(s) would be answered, thus eliminating the need to make a new thread. Just like this thread. The answer is on the forum, but the OP did not take the time to read. This is not GameFaqs where there are 30 threads asking the same question with zero responses.

The MLB Q& A thread is 146 pages long. I can't think of a lot of people who are going to have the patience to read a thread that long to look for information. Not saying you're wrong, but the Q&A threads are a bad example to use.

Huh? No one is suggesting read the whole thread.

People are complaining that they can't post a new thread to ask a question.

We have a thread they can post the question in, problem solved.

There is a thing called the search function. Search for your question within the thread.

If you actually read through the whole thread, you would see that the same question is asked over and over again. It's fine to just post it there.

I needed to ask a question recently and I immediately used the search function. And sure enough, someone else had posted a similar question so I went to that thread instead of starting a new one. My theory is: Why start a new thread when I don't have to?
