I just ran a CPU vs CPU game, Florida State at Arkansas. All-American. Arkansas won 35-0.
The stats make me go O_o..
Florida State - Arkansas
Total offense 147 - 437
Rushes 24-58-0 - 17-87-1
Passing 10-11-0 - 22-26-4
Pass yards 89 - 350
Now.. tell me something ain't up with that..Comment

First impression was that the grass looked like something out of a Super Mario Brother's game. That was literally the first thing I saw and shook my head at. I do like the feel of this year game. The momentum when running is better on offense. But it's hard to get past the blotchy looking graphics. Unfortunately, I then popped into the team management to find that there have been no upgrades to player equipment. Shameful. I didn't buy the game last year, and now I remember why. The gimmicks in this franchise outweigh the improvements toward simulation football.Comment

So here is my impression with 14 thus far after playing a variety of exhibition games.
Graphics D
Well, this game won't be winning any awards and def not on the ps3. Grainy textures and overall stadiums just look bad more often than not. More so in the initial game fly by. Everyone knows how I feel about the models. In an era where nba2k, FIFA, NHL, madden, the show and UFC all look amazing I find it very hard that this team couldn't ever do the same. Bad leadership equals poor performance by employees and results in a bad product from an artistical standpoint.
Gameplay A
At first I was seriously on the fence due to all the negativity about defense so I will start there. While EA NEEDS to tighten up the safety play and the aggressive CPU setting on their gameplay in regards to coverage, this area is def fun as it simply made me adjust how I play the game and now I play as the safety which is a game changer by mistake. I have a blast and the front four do their job just fine if I make the right call. So while there does need to be a patch, this is def not a game breaker and I am Gavin loads of fun on the D side of the ball. Won't go into to much here but believe me with the hits and ballhawks feature, your actually gonna have to play your butt off to hold the CPU which is fine by me. Offense...how I love you. Playing as TCU VS TENN was a true riot. Paschall is a beast and when #22 took a pistol left power I pulled off this Texas two step cut that had me replaying that baby for a hot minute. There is a lag in the no huddle but its not overwhelming Unless your the guy who requires a long stinking time to know what play you want to run and in that Caaba no huddle offense shouldn't be your cup of tea in the first place. Lots of good here and it's a blast to perform the moves. Special teams...this are needs a ton of work all for the reasons I have sounded off on numerous times.
Overall
This a good game that any college fan should pick up. Its a great game of football that has it good share of issues. But like a bunch of folks have said its for the most part patch able and take the game for what it is. If your on the fence like I was, just get it if you can as a great game of football to hold you over until madden...if you can get either one or the other, just wait"Im all jacked up on mountain dew!"
" Im just a big hairy american winning machine"Comment

so if 1 guys tackle someone, do both players at least get credit for 1 tackle? or will tackle stats be off for manually controlled players.Ummmm I have a copy non-season ticket and as far as the assist tackle goes, the CPU had none and I had 3 three 3 different players. I'm playing my 2nd game, let me check now. I'm at halftime, I'm using the hurricanes and the CPU is Virginia tech. I have 4 at the half and v.tech has 0.Comment

As it may be true that today's games are very good, the old games were FUN FUN FUN!!! Pick your team. Red or Blue. That was it. As things get more realistic, there's more complaining and less playing. "He doesn't throw like that!!" "They messed up the scoreboard AGAIN!!" Blah Blah Blah... Back in the 80's, the only thing I worried about was finding a HUMAN opponent because there was no option to play vs. CPU. LolLast edited by blackngoldfan; 07-09-2013, 11:41 PM.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 14 Available For Season Ticket Subscribers, Post Your Impressions H
This game hasn't left a favorable impression on me and I haven't played yet. One thing I like doing in sports games is watch the ai play. After someone scores a TD, the players just stand there like zombies or the ball once on the ground just slides towards the sideline. As I'm typing this there's 3 players just standing in the endzone. I think glitches like this and the goofy post play interactions are why replays are so close up and short.
And like Madden 13, I've seen mostly 1 on 1 tackles, big tight ends tossed like a ragdoll by dbs. I don't know if this is because I'm watching instead of playing, but it looks like all of these qbs scramble and every team constantly runs no huddle. The dead sideline not reacting to anything on the field, same boring commentary, same cutscenes often showed that I remember playing NCAA 12, and silent crowd makes me feel like gamespot's 6 rating was deserved.Last edited by Fist Of Kings; 07-10-2013, 12:26 AM.Comment

I have always hated inanimate, boring sideline and player behavior between fields on these games, but I've just accepted it and try to block that out and use my imagination. I know what it is like when Auburn scores a huge TD in a big game and that is what is going through my head when it happens. That is why I am pretty excited for this year's game so far. I haven't played it a ton, but from what I have played I'm really enjoying the gameplay. This game hasn't left a favorable impression on me and I haven't played yet. Anyway, different stuff works for different people, I wouldn't count on that getting changed in a patch though.Comment

First time in about 15 years that I haven't bought this game on release day.
It did nothing for me last year... I bought it and played maybe five or six times total and then kicked myself for buying it again. I was actually able to hold out this year and I am glad I did. The thing is, the game might be fun to play for a week or two. I can look past some of the past bugs and glitches for a time before they just overtake the overall gaming experience. It's always just a matter of time and I have been a huge supporter of this title since 1996 or 1997 (maybe even longer).
Some of the things that the masses have asked to be fixed have been ignored and that is unforgivable to me. I am glad so many folks are having fun with the game, though. It's just not for me until EA goes in a completely different direction.
I hope to see this title on the next consoles, because I do feel like it can be amazingly great with the right development team.Comment

The Good
-New collision engine is nice. No more suction is great.
-Nike tutorials are fun and educational.
-Ultimate Team.
-Option tooltips are good.
-"Leading the receiver" feature works well.
The Bad
-Horrendous lag at times online. I've played several slide show games. Very frustrating.
-Defense is worthless. Zone is back to being complete garbage. Some of the time defenders won't even make a play on the ball despite real chances at interceptions or breaking up the pass. Man to man gets beat by back shoulder fades, comeback routes, and more than three guys in the pattern about 80% of the time.
-Run blocking schemes are waaaaaaaay overpowered. 75% of option plays go for big gains if you make the correct decision. Regular run plays are stupidly strong too. I just played a Miami guy, and he literally ran four unique runs the entire game. When I caught on to what he was doing, I would sell out to the correct side, shift the line, angle the line's crash direction, and blitz the linebackers. I was lucky if he got less than five yards. Running is just so powerful it's gamebreaking, and it takes no skill at all to run the same play in the same formation 25 times in a game and put up 40 points because no amount of blitzing and pre-snap finagling can stop it. I'm going to play an all run game tomorrow to see if you can win without passing. I'm willing to bet that you can.
-Online bug where wins aren't added despite choosing to "count the game" after a disconnect or a rage quit when leading. I've had three people rage quit because they were losing, zero wins to show for it.
