Under Armour Shoes in the Show 14?
It seems like many of the young up and coming players are wearing under armour gear, and if I remember correctly, Russell said there would not be Nike shoes in the game because Under Armour is the official mlb shoe brand or somethng like that.
With the addition of the Nke undershirts this year, what are the odds that we get more brand names, like under armour shoes?

Not sure how this works.
Does SCEA pay Nike to use their logo in MLBTS or does Nike pay SCEA to advertise their logo in MLBTS?Comment

I don't have a link, but i'm pretty sure i remember seeing it said that SCEA has to pay Nike and any brand they want to use in their game.
They have to pay for each individual item as well, like they paid for the Nike undershirts, but they'd also have to pay for Nike shoes separately, it's not a package deal.NFL : Atlanta Falcons

Re: Under Armour Shoes in the Show 14?
It could be the other way around...where Nike pays SCEA.
Now you might say well "why wouldn't everything be name brand if SCEA is getting paid", but a company like Nike may not want to pay for all the different stuff. They may only be willing to pay for the shirt in the game at the current moment.
I don't know for sure though."Life is like baseball, it's the number of times you arrive home safely that counts"Comment

This is what I am thinking. It does SCEA no good to have Nike shirts. Its not like people are running out to buy MLBTS because they have Nike shirts.
But it is possible that people would go out and buy Nike shirts because they saw them in The Show.
Its how advertising works. Thats why many times when you watch TV, youll see someone with a Coke can or Gatorade bottle and the logo is blurred out or gaff taped over. Thats because Coke or Gatorade or whatever brand is not a sponsor of the TV show. They didnt pay for the advertisement.Comment

Re: Under Armour Shoes in the Show 14?
I'm completely with you from an advertising aspect. I could see Nike paying to have their logo and product in the game as product placement. No different than when you visually see a Sam Adams bottle in a sitcom, they paid for their beer to be drank in that episode.
On the other hand, I do see SCEA paying to use Nike's logo.
I would compare that to the players saying that the game is making money off of their likeness.
Nike could argue (wrongfully) that people are buying this game because the players have the Nike logo on their shirts and thus they deserve to be paid for that.Comment

You ever watch that show, Operation Repo on TruTV.
I always suspected it was fake, but I knew for sure when two drunk girls came out to defend their car, each holding a beer bottle with no label on it!
BINGO! Fake!Comment
