I am currently adding additional players and making trades. Most of them will probably be rookie call ups that aren't in the game, but I will add others too.

As far as ratings go, I use multiple years of data. Focusing on half a year's data is too small of a sample size to me.

Give me a player you disagree with and we can discuss.

          Thanks.

I don't mind people using this roster however they want. I was just saying how I was creating mine. By all means, do whatever you like. That is why I posted it. I just don't like using half a years worth of data when determining a player's value. We don't have to have the same opinion. I wasn't attacking you. For example, a lot of players probably have Puig as a 90+ player, but I don't. Not yet, anyways.

I know you werent attacking me, I just thought you should look at it before dismissing it.

And you have to be careful of what the players "overall" rating is, because 2k puts A LOT of emphasis on defense and baserunning. He did round out to a 90 in my version, but I don't have him any higher than 85 contact or 77 power.

I've noticed that ratings are misleading if you don't look at where they are derived from.

For one I want to thank you for the amount of work you've put in, I was going through editing pitchers alone and I realized how much work it is. I really like how you didn't just put the names on players but added their correct pitches and speed. I was scrolling through the Astros and you probably already know, but you left off Paul Clemens. I am going to wait for your updated roster with all the moves (I trust you making these moves more then myself) and will do my own editing. I am open for any discussion on ratings. I watch a ton of baseball, haven't missed a nats game, but I don't know every player so any help is greatly appreciated. Once again thanks for the rosters it's nice being able to make trades and see actual players involved in the trade.

My idea for starting pitchers in the Majors is making their stamina all at 80+ (85+ for vets, ie. Joe Blanton, Erik Bedard etc..) due to pitch counts (almost all MLBers go 100+ if they're effective) and what not. Do you like this idea or not? I am open for all discussions.

                oh and go Big Red

Once again thanks for all the help and your rosters. I can finally start a new franchise soon instead of playing based rosters like I've been doing.

Freig, apparently I jumped the gun a bit as I did not realize Moth was still in the process of adding additional players to the roster before I re-rated the hitters. He didnt have guys like Paul Clemens because this was really an opening day version.

Having said that, I'm not sure if Moth is going to adopt my updated version or just keep adding onto his current one, so let's wait to hear from him on that note. It wasn't my intention to deviate on my own.

Also, I seemed to have skipped over Victor Martinez accidently and left him as amazing.

Thank you. I love baseball, too. I watch just about every Tigers game and do this while I am watching. Which is probably why it takes me quite a while. haha

Honestly, when it comes to ratings, I am not 100% sure how I like them. Even my own. I do not fully understand how 2K's system works. For example, they have a few pitchers with a groundball tendency of 0. Which seems kind of stupid to me, but I don't know what that does.

I added Paul Clemens. I will add just about any players you guys throw at me.

And yes, Go Big Red. I am going to Lincoln this November for the first time. I am REALLY excited. The Huskers are my number one love. haha

That explains why the Tigers have the deepest prospect system down to guys like Drew Verhagen and Dixon Machado.

For GB tendency, I just take it from fangraphs.

Please let me know if you decide to keep going with yours or adopting my ratings so I'll know if I need to start working on adding new players on my version.

                      Thanks.

For the most part I think people care more about the general player then tendencies. But yeah the 2k system is kind weird I was editing some and guys can be like 80s and not even have that good of overall ratings. I'd go through every team and help you out after work today, pretty sure you've got most players, I tend to go to ESPN and search by innings pitch under stats for each team, that's how I noticed Clemens (he's also from my HS) problem with relievers is that they aren't always top prospects

I live in DC and go to UNL (Dad played football in the late 70s there) been a Huskers fan my entire life

I've gone through all 25 and 40 man rosters. The following players, in one manner or another, are listed on the various MLB rosters and could potentially be added (feel free to keep adding to my list).

                          Hitters:

                          Neftali Soto

                          Jeremy Hazelbaker
                          Logan Watkins
                          Kensuke Tanaka

                          Pitchers

                          Trey McNutt
                          Curtis Partch
                          Jose Cisnero
                          Paul Clemens

                          Noel Arguelles
                          Donnie Joseph
                          Ryan Brasier
                          Jose Dominguez
Chris Withrow - Update name from Winthrow
                          Matt Magill
                          Edgar Olmos
Johnny Hellweg - 4 Years of service (recreate)
                          Kyle Gibson
                          Michael Tonkin
                          Trevor May
                          Michael Ynoa
                          Vic Black
                          Brandon Cumpton
                          Stolmy Pimentel
                          Burch Smith
                          Yoervis Medina
                          Seth Maness
                          Kevin Siegrist
                          Michael Blazek
                          Roman Mendez
                          Taylor Jordan
                          Matt Purke
                          Evan Reed

Question to both Moth and Freig:

                          1) Are we interested in adding these players?

                          2) If so, do we want to add them all, or can certain ones be left off?

                          3) Are we adding them to my roster with updated ratings or are you guys going on your own?

                          Thanks guys.

Question to both Moth and Freig:

                            1) Are we interested in adding these players?

                            2) If so, do we want to add them all, or can certain ones be left off?

                            3) Are we adding them to my roster with updated ratings or are you guys going on your own?

                            Thanks guys.
Nate Freiman (know that off the top of my head because of my last name, Frei.)

I say the ones who are must adds are ones who have 20+ ip or over 100 plate appearances. But that's just my 2 cents

                              Thanks for your input.

I slightly disagree because a lot of relievers who were called up and saw sporadic action or are in AAA or AA and on the 40 man roster, making them viable players.

I guess the question is, do we want a deep roster? I prefer a deep roster so we don't have too many fake players in AAA or AA when I start a franchise.

With that said, I am fine doing whatever the consensus prefers.
