    Custom Playbooks (Ideas)

    Hey guys, I was just wondering if there is a thread or anything for everyones custom playbooks or custom playbook ideas. I think it would be cool to see everyones ideas and if there isn't a thread already I think it would be cool to start one!

    Re: Custom Playbooks (Ideas)

    I created a thread earlier about it. I'm trying to build a good spread option type playbook. I have seen a few other threads based on a certain formations that have quite a few replies, but I can't recall seeing any others solely based on custom playbooks (I could be wrong though)

        Re: Custom Playbooks (Ideas)

        My playbook for my current dynasty:

        1) Maryland I [HEAVY]
        2) Power I [TIGHT]
        3) Split Backs [PRO]
        4) Wish Bone [TIGHT]
        5) Wing Bone [NORMAL]
        6) Flex Bone [NORMAL]
        7) Ace [BIG]
        8) Pistol [TRAIN]
        9) Pistol [FULL HOUSE]
        10) Shot Gun [5WR]
        11) Shot Gun [HEAVY]
        12) Shot Gun [NORMAL]
        13) Shot Gun [EMPTY BASE]

        14) I-Form [HULK]
        {In the past I would run with I-Form NORMAL,
        but this year I'm going with the novelty of the HULK.}

        15) Goal Line [HEAVY]
        {Again, In the past I'd run with Goal Line NORMAL,
        but this year I'm running with the novelty of having a goal line offense
        with the QB in a shotgun ( or pistol? ) alignment.}

        16) Empty [FLEX TREY OPEN]
        17) Wild Cat [FIGHT SONG]
        18) Wild Cat [TWIN TE]

        What I'd like to see on P$4 is the ability to change the names of the individual plays so I can use my own terminology.

          I'm having some trouble creating my play book this year. I want to run a lot of spread option type stuff like Oregon, but I don't want to use their play book. The limiting number of plays is really frustrating especially when most of my plays are the same just out of different formations.

            Orange, I created a thread you might be interested in regarding the spread option. There are not any replies yet but it might be a good one to to follow once it gets some traction.

                If you have never seen it, this is one of the best places for ideas.

                They're moving for this year, but the Custom Playbooks section has some of the best thought out books you'll find. Very similar to 2014.

                  I like to use a wide variety of formations. The max of 40 is often what I go to. What I've found is that many effective and strategic route concepts can be utilized just with hot routes. Sometimes, doing this allows you to turn one play concept into 4-5 actual plays. So more formations with less plays within them really gives me flexibility in how I can attack a defense and utilize matchups that are in my favor. With the new hot route options, I expect to have more creativity than ever in my play design.

                    Re: Custom Playbooks (Ideas)

                    I'm a run first kind of guy, so I run my offense similarly to Wisconsin where you rotate multiple RBs and work the short passing with the occasional deep ball to throw them off guard. In '13, I'd recruit a running QB every few years to freshen things up and would make it more of a spread type.

                    I'm debating heavily on starting as a DC this year for the first time. I'm not much of a defense guy in terms of strategy so hopefully this thread will come in handy

                      I've never seen a 3-3-5 defense before, it looks pretty gimmicky but I'm about to see if it works out for me.

                          Believe it or not, most offenses are actually designed like this. Your doing it right if your playbook turns out this way.
