Coach Carousel is completely busted for HC

Observations after 6 years of dynasty:

75+% of the coaches have a job security greater than 90 (~40% have 100)

It appears a bug in the system, gives every coach an extension after every season (i've gotten an offer), this means that at the beginning of the 2019 season, not a SINGLE head coach has 1 year remaining on his contract. You can see this in the offseason after coaching carousel, the coach changes screens almost everyone has an extension

do you like jumping around between teams? hoped that you would one day get to resurrect a powerhouse that's fallen into mediocrity? it'll take several sub 500 years for that coach to be fired

there are about 10 firings a year, compared to 25 in real life

coaches with the least job security are arguably the ones who shouldn't have it, guys who just took over a bad team and had a bad first year, yeah the 3 least job security guys have been there for a whole year

oddly enough it isn't so bad with the coordinators, so i don't know what exactly EA boned up here

Since they disabled the ability to turn off CC, I'm guessing they made it harder to get fired to prevent users from unnecessarily getting canned. Unfortunately, EA has a bad habit in going too far in the opposite direction when they change something and rarely find that right balance. FWIW, it used too be waaaay too easy to get fired so ate least its improved in that aspect :-/

13 were fired last season and that was A LOT. I think the new coach carousel is far more realistic.

If 13 teams fire their coach, a coach from another team takes their place. So 13 firings = 26 new coaches. Obviously the video game doesn't account for guys retiring, leaving for the NFL, or other reasons why they wouldn't be there anymore.

i interchangeably used firing for coaching change, but yes, there are only about 10 coaching changes each season. NCAA does have retirements

WOW! Every day you see someone else saying the game is broken. Just because there are only 10 openings a year on your dynasty doesn't make it broken. Someone else might get 6 years into it and have 20. Even if it is 10 a year for everyone I am thinking the same way majesty95 is. It's to keep you from being fired to quick and easy.

mostly sim, play 1-2 games a season

It's the week one of the games release. If it was PERFECT people would be on here saying the game is too perfect.

My only qualms with coaching carousel (so far) is coaches in the first year of their contracts would get fired. For example, Sonny ****s (Cal) was fired after just one season. Don't remember his exact record, but it wasn't super terrible.

that's the problem, right now the guy with the lowest job security in the country is a first year coach at Colorado. he's 0-2 and on the hot seat!

of the 15 coaches who have less than 60 job security, 10 are first year coaches

meanwhile, Butch Jones is 51-51 in 8 years at Tenn, and he has 100% job security!?!? and he just signed an extension for 5 more years

i believe the extensions that every coach gets in the offseason is what breaks this, and it is why new coaches are always in trouble
