because, if you recruit a season after finding out all the highest ratings, you will see that the top tier schools magically know what players are actually rated. Say Bama, right now I have the list of players that are the best at their positions, Bama is currently recruiting 12 players, and has a full list. 18 of the top 25 top players are magically on their recruiting list, even though there are higher rated recruits at some of the positions. USCe which is currently a star behind them, and at least a level down, has filled up with players around the 5-7 best at their position.

Now, this changes some depending on if players are bad fits, but doing it the way I do it actually evens out recruiting some because of this advantage. The CPU schools seem to recruit based off of the actual player ratings to an extent, before they even recruit them.

My Year 1 Recruiting class with Wyoming included.. *drumroll*

      80 ovr HB (73+7)
      78 ovr ATH (WR - 72+6)
      77 ovr ATH (QB - 74+3)
      81 ovr SS (82-1)

The HB will be starting for me in year 2 as a true freshman but the others are redshirting. I've got a great foundation set on offense for years to come with a great QB, HB, and WR combo. Also, the #1 Tight End in the nation has me in his top 10 at the start of year 2, I will be pursuing him for sure. I finished with the #15 recruiting class!

This would make sense if it is a 3* gem who turned out to be mid 70s, but there should be no 4 or 5* players being neglected.

I know I'm jinxing myself as he isn't signed yet, but in year 4 of my Ga State dynasty (now 3*) I should land an athlete that I'll play at QB for my triple option system:

79 OVR, 94 SPD, 93 ACC, 83 THP, 85 THA. I don't know the stats offhand, but he also has good #s for a DB, WR, or HB.

If I get him - look out!

5* TE that no one offered. Don't know how. Don't know why. All I know is that on my 1* team builder team in the big ten, it's been huge. He's the only receiver that consistently catches anything. I've won a few games with his good hands.

In my San Diego State dynasty I signed an ATH, that is rated as a 78 at QB, 81 at FS, 78 at WR, 80 at CB. During his freshman season he played 3 positions as a back up and his rating went up 3-4 points at each spot. Now an 87 rated soph QB and the starter.

91 speed, 93 acc, 95 agi, 91 throw power, 78 accuracy as an incoming freshman. He was a 4 star "gem".

The recruiting this year is not very realistic b/c both of these guys would never go to UMass regardless of the year I had. Other schools were not even recruiting them.
I think if they're gonna have players go unrecruited like that they should bring back the whole character issues sytem where people get suspended for games or have to sit out quarters.

Also got a very quick QB who might start as a sophomore once Schurr graduates.

I love playing a small school with recruiting "house rules," keeps it interesting
Running back is a stud, went for 130 in his first start this season.

I also signed, in season 2, a QB who can play WR or RB if he doesn't see time under center, which he probably won't to be honest.

Loving the grind. Slowest coach progression and I'm putting points in recruiting tree one by one

Whoever asked, my rules are I can only sign one 4 star a year, everyone else is three star or below so I make it count. I only sign whatever my number of seniors leaving + 1 is.

so it seems recruiting is too easy this year. way too many people talking about their lower level team is getting 80 rated freshman. there should only be 1 or 2 80 rated freshman coming in per class anyway.

                        Grade issues?
Maybe he was arrested in highschool?

There are a number of things that could be the reason stars fall through the cracks.

I like the new recruiting system, I see no problem with getting a program changer. Yeah people might abuse the system and find that certain players will go unrecruited and just look for those guys. But getting good players keeps your dynasty fresh and makes you want to play.

Just recruited a JUCO athlete Brandon Whaley who has 88 SPD 89 ACC 81 THP and 85 ACC. other than that, nobody really stands out, but getting a JUCO at Hawaii isn't that much of a stretch to me.

My best so far is a 5* ATH (QB) rated at 80. Before that it was tie between a 4* TE rated at 73, and a 3* FB rated at 73.

I'm really not sure how they are doing the ratings to starts this year. I am currently recruiting a 1* JUCO P that is rated 78. (all these numbers are after scouting)

Not sure how you can be a 1* and be rated 78, when there are 3* punters who are only rated 65.

Juco's get lower star ratings by default.
