The thing is, Sega's main selling point is realism and attention to lots of small details. No flashy graphics, no shoe editor, no Cristiano Ronaldo picking the soundtrack...an accurate representation of real life football is what the game is all about. If their rosters were as p*ss poor as 2ks, no one would even bother looking at FM.
And it's not even like 2k needs a few hundred scouts on their payroll to get rosters right. I mean is it really that hard? So someone came up with a new special skill called "Anti Freeze". It makes a player more consistent, less likely to go on a cold streak.
Nice, now the question is...who should get that skill. And 2k roster guy thinks of..****dy Gay! Makes sense. Dude has been shooting 40% from the field and 32% from 3 last year. Now this guy, in the "insider's" mind, is not only a consistent player, but deserves a special super skill for rarely going on a cold streak...
What should the "insider" even do with advanced stats and extensive scouting reports? He doesn't know sh*t about the most basic things, you know, stuff like "player xy is good at passing". Maybe he doesn't even know all the players in the league, wouldn't surprise me at all.
