Licensing comes from one source for the most part: http://www.clc.com/

NCAA was branding on top of that.

That's what I'm thinking about too. Sure the NCAA name isn't there, but they also lose all the rights of the schools within the NCAA as well. The game would be a shell of what it is today, and honestly, this iteration is the best i've ever played. It's a shame. Hope something can get sorted out, but am prepared for the worst as well

The licensing agreements are already in place with the other schools. This is similar in "line item" to a single school dropping out of an agreement with the game. Granted, losing the "NCAA" name and logo takes away from a marketing standpoint moreso than Tennessee's logo and namesake, but the point is that it doesn't impact other licenses within the game.

Licensing process for the schools is unchanged. That part literally is not affected by today's news.

Here's the bottom line. If EA can figure a sizeable profit from producing the game without the NCAA licenses, then they'll do it. Just don't be so sure everything's gonna be the same within the game

People aren't going to understand that the only thing they are losing is the NCAA name/logo, so it's to the point where people can probably quit trying to explain it.

NCAA is a separate entity than the colleges.

Amen. All anybody need to do is read that one line and they will understand.

Yeah but do u think the colleges themselves will want to get involved with the court cases that will follow for the samething? Plus whoes to say all Div 1 schools will agree to have their school used.

This is the end of college footbal games as you know it. I wish it wasn't but it is.

Okay, I completely admit to having never heard of the CLC until a few pages into this thread (as evidenced by my post on the first page). Looks like it's not dead after all.

However from what I understand, not all of the schools are under its umbrella?

Still waiting to hear from EA and/or the CLC on this.

No it's not. It's basically unchanged from the way it is now except the NCAA won't be affiliated. The schools were already through the CLC. NOTHING CHANGES!

It's not just removing the NCAA name and logos from the game... what appears on the surface is never that simple on cases like this... This is more of a wait and see what happens thing. Hopefully the game doesn't get affected too much

                                Statement from EA:

By now, most fans will have heard that EA's licensing agreement with the NCAA is set to expire and that we have agreed to part ways.  I'm sure gamers are wondering what this means.

"This is simple: EA SPORTS will continue to develop and publish college football games, but we will no longer include the NCAA names and marks. Our relationship with the Collegiate Licensing Company is strong and we are already working on a new game for next generation consoles which will launch next year and feature the college teams, leagues and all the innovation fans expect from EA SPORTS.
