Re: NCAA Will Not Renew EA Sports Contract, NCAA Football Series is Dead in Name Only
It isn't really any more different to be honest, but with a major partner in the NCAA pulling out and with the lawsuits and EA tanking, I just don't see how this is just "business as usual." I know that if I'm one of the licensing companies or one of the individuals, I want to stay as far away from this lawsuit mess as possible. Not only that, but there's no guarentee that the prices are going to stay the same.
I know EA came out and said there would be a game next year. That's cute and all, but EA is hurting bad right now, and I don't think many people on here understand that. This is nothing but bad news for EA even though the NCAA isn't the all-in-all rights holder. It becomes a question for investors: "is EA doing the right thing by keeping this game afloat while the NCAA is ducking for cover?"
I understand people being "rah-rah!" and all, but you have to step back and look at the bigger picture. This is about more than a video game here.
