It isn't really any more different to be honest, but with a major partner in the NCAA pulling out and with the lawsuits and EA tanking, I just don't see how this is just "business as usual." I know that if I'm one of the licensing companies or one of the individuals, I want to stay as far away from this lawsuit mess as possible. Not only that, but there's no guarentee that the prices are going to stay the same.

I know EA came out and said there would be a game next year. That's cute and all, but EA is hurting bad right now, and I don't think many people on here understand that. This is nothing but bad news for EA even though the NCAA isn't the all-in-all rights holder. It becomes a question for investors: "is EA doing the right thing by keeping this game afloat while the NCAA is ducking for cover?"

I understand people being "rah-rah!" and all, but you have to step back and look at the bigger picture. This is about more than a video game here.

My theory on anything regarding college football is the less the NCAA is involved, the better it can possibly be.

I just did and diddy song and dance!!! Best news I heard all day series has been stale for almost a decade with a new splash of paint on it every year and minor tweaks if not any to gameplay. Is a EA college game going away? no way. I just hope this finally gives other company's a chance to create a new college football experience cough 2K? We need more sports titles to go against each other to so they keep working hard and not fluffing off. P

Remember in old NCAA's you had to discipline kids... They could bring that back.

But yes the less the NCAA is involved im sure the better the game can be.

I want to see kids have to go to classes or get suspended. That was awesome

Re: NCAA Will Not Renew EA Sports Contract, NCAA Football Series is Dead in Name Only

there must be some restrictions that NCAA brought into the game

From what EA said...it was a mutual thing...so they must know the advantages of not having NCAA involved.

NCAA was a crutch in the beginning to convince people to buy the game...but now all they give are advertisements in the game...EA no longer needs them

                Good step forward imo

Welcome back? Maybe? I just like the sound of this. I hope they use it once again. Unless they have something better.

If they didn't need to spend extra with NCAA endorsements and can have more freedom now without it, why didn't they make a game without NCAA in the name in the first place??

Take a look at where their stock is right now compared to where it was before the recession (heck, even a few years ago). There's a number of issues as to why EA is losing money: lack of disposable income, lack of actually having a job, people moving into other gaming areas, etc... The industry as a whole is not doing really well right now.

So I see the question of the possibility of bringing back suspensions has been asked.

Does this mean they'd also be able to add various other things back as well? Like celebrations, showboating in open field, etc. I like to think this could really give them the opportunity to be creative and give the game more emotion.

Also, would this give them the ability to utilize ESPN as well as other networks for the game? Not sure they'd be ambitious enough to get CBS (say, for Notre Dame televised games) and other specific network stuff, but it still is interesting to me.

One more thing - would this mean we have freedom to add teams TO the college lineup, instead of having to remove teams or swap them out? OR the ability to actually license FCS teams?

Do they have to use generic bowl names now?? What about roster shares?? Still OK for that?
