In the meantime, I hope EA gives NCAA 14 the love and support it needs/deserves. I need a patch or a tuner update so I can see fumbles by someone other than QBs.

I am still gonna take a wait and see approach. I want to believe, I really do. When EA starts putting out some good, solid info, I will be convinced. Until then I will be cautiously optimistic but still worried.

For anybody wondering why EA Sports still carried the NCAA licence:

Re: NCAA Will Not Renew EA Sports Contract, NCAA Football Series is Dead in Name Only
So the series died for a few hours today. Interesting development. So the only real thing that would change would be the presence of the NCAA logo and other branding in theory?
I can understand why EA would continue a college football game since it is the third biggest selling sports game in the U.S.. That's not nothing revenue.
Good news for patches this year too.
One stumbling block I can see is other schools associated with the CLC might to hesitant to lend their license to the product out of fear they would be subject to the same accusations as the NCAA in the matter. Though I'm not sure if it would be viable or at all possible to include them in any existing suit or have to begin another.Last edited by bad_philanthropy; 07-17-2013, 08:45 PM.Comment

Great news!!! Hopefully this means more creative freedom, more FCS schools, and even Division II schools. And bring back players getting suspended for breaking rules!! Hopefully 2K and/or some other studio steps up and makes a college football game also. This is very exciting news for college football fans, made my day!!!Last edited by ghettogeeksta; 07-17-2013, 09:12 PM.Comment

the ncaa license doesnt matter since they dont sanction FBS football anyway. just negotiate with the CLC that gives you the same school names and mascots plus use of all the bowls and trophies. bascially nothing changes except ncaa doesnt get any money. sucks for them lolComment

Good to know. Why wouldn't O'Bannon and Keller, and those people take issue with the CLC as well? Doesn't it use athlete likenesses or apparent likenesses in any of its branding tools?Comment

One good thing that came out of today, I think; EA sees how passionate people are about the series continuing. This blew up in a hurry and became a big story on USA Today and ESPN. Hopefully that sends a loud and clear message that we want college football to live on in the future of gaming.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines

No it doesnt. It only controls the marks/uniforms/stadiums and names of the schools. No connection to likenesses. This is an EA/NCAA issue.Comment

Re: NCAA 2014 = THE END!
Real teams will be in the game as long as the schools agree to be in EA's college football game. All they have to do is throw the schools a few dollars.Comment
