Re: NCAA Will Not Renew EA Sports Contract, NCAA Football Series is Dead in Name Only
On the quote above I just have to say BELIEVE ME, I would be the first person in line and very welcoming of all these features and I very much remember the suspensions and disciplines features of the PS2 days, but I have to ask do you really think we'll ever see field storming and tattoos in the game?
Field Storming- although a long time tradition of home upsets in College Football, its highly frowned upon by a lot of people including University heads and ESPN staff because of the obvious safety issues and not to mention the away team/home fans incidents that have occured in the past.....
Tattoos- This ones simple.....I know many many players at the collegiant level have them, but after that huge Ohio State scandal I just couldn't see them being put in the game.....I'm guessing your response will be that those were NCAA violations that they broke and with NCAA no longer apart of the game this won't be an issue, but doesn't it still seem a little fresh for them to incorporate it in the game.....Last edited by SlickRick11; 07-17-2013, 09:13 PM.From 1983-1996 Miami went (144-24)

I did see that. I want it to get a little (a lot) further along in development before I start celebrating. That's just my paranoia.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines

I can only think of one or two scenarios where the game would cost more to make than they would get back - and those scenarios don't really exist with the way the licensing agreements are set up.Writer for Operation Sports

I know that if I were homeless, I'd much rather have a football game than something unimportant like a meal. :wink:Last edited by Aggies67; 07-17-2013, 09:24 PM.Comment

To everyone wanting 2k to throw their hat in the ring... Go play College Football 2k3, it's terrible.
Now also remember they havent made a football game in what 5 years now since APF? They will have to make it next gen and that will cost more to make then they could make from the game. They would have to secure the NFL as well and the NFL and EA love each other.
For use NCAA fans "College Football 15" will be better in every way. The NCAA is like a pedophile at a kid's birthday party, they ruin everything. EA can make dynasty deeper and heck maybe even include FCS schools in there or no restrictions to TB teams importedComment

It is what it is. EA had the chance to make something great over the past few years and decided to screw the consumer and now they are getting the shaft. Galatians 6:7 - ...whatsoever a man sows that shall he also reap...."Florida State, the only FBS Division-1 school to finish consecutively in the AP top 5 poll for 14 years. This is a record that no other collegiate football team will ever remotely come close to accomplishing again."

Re: NCAA Will Not Renew EA Sports Contract, NCAA Football Series is Dead in Name Only
Quite a bit of speculation here, and I certainly cant blame anyone. Let me put a few rumors to rest.
1) The dev team is not getting fired or reallocated. Most of the team has been working on another project for the past 2 months already....that they knew well before they would be doing.
2) The game isnt a raging financial success now, so it all boils down to how much all the contracts will cost to cover all the fees to release next years version.
3) The removal of the NCAA logo does not mean that all the tatoos, tearing down goal posts, suspensions etc will get in the game. The CLC will protect its image as well. ( We do still have a working copy of the one NCAA game that did have the goal posts getting ripped downbonus points to anyone who remembers the year that beta version was released to the press.
4)Feel free to search back through my post history over a year or so ago and see that we knew the contract wouldnt be renewed back then. This took no one at work by suprise.Comment

I don't think you read much of this thread......."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

College sports games are dead. No more talk about another company picking it up, please. It's over.
It is and always has been about business, money and CYA. The NCAA is in major CYA mode as a direct result of the O'Bannon lawsuit, and obviously fears, or is bracing for, a court loss.
A good lesson for younger OS members who grew up with releases every fall, assuming this was your God-given right. It is not, and never was. Lawyers rule the world.Comment

Ea will get a deal done with college license company yes we might not have over 100 schools in the game but we will still have a game next year don't worry.Comment

Your #2 makes it sound like a new game next year is NOT a done deal and that contracts/costs could keep the game from continuing. True?
You say the team is working on another project. Is anyone working on patches and tuner updates for NCAA 14? I myself would love to see fumbles returned to their proper frequency instead of RBs never fumbling. I hope '14 has people dedicated to keep improving it.

Yeah, but it might not have all of our schools. I know my school isn't licensed to the CLC. And I'm not going to buy the game if I can't use my school. Also, why don't they just go back to putting Bill Walsh's name back on the cover?Texans - Cougars - Astros - Rockets - Dynamo - Chelsea - LightningComment
