According to EA, this is not true. But I'm sure someone will just respond "yea, but it's EA, so you can't believe anything they say."

    But here you go anyway:

EA Sports will continue to develop and publish college football games, but we will no longer include the NCAA names and marks. Our relationship with the Collegiate Licensing Company is strong and we are already working on a new game for next generation consoles which will launch next year and feature the college teams, leagues and all the innovation fans expect from EA Sports.

lol, you'll forever call them d2?

They were never d2 to begin with....

How did your school get represented in the games in the past? I don't believe it was because of their affiliation to the NCAA. I'm sure they struck an independent deal with EA to use their logo. I don't see why that would change now, but then again I'm not an expert in this issue.

Right, I read that earlier. But what he wrote seems to say that things still could be up in the air. I'm just nervous is all. This (NCAA series) has basically been the center of my gaming universe and I would be lost without it. I almost went into cardiac arrest when the first reports came out. :-)

To be honest, I'm not sure how. I don't think EA had an agreement with the Licensing Resource Group, because the Pinstripe Bowl isn't in the game. I just think that this could potentially be an excuse for the series to exclude some less-popular schools that are in the game now and aren't licensed to the CLC.

Speaking of division 2, any chance some of those teams being included in future college football games?

I doubt it - that's extra licensing costs and extra development work that the NCAA crew would have to come up with in order to only marginally impact sales.

I guess that means. I have to buy this NCAA that just came out, for it might be the last one?

Last NCAA game & last college football game, two different things

Dos anyone know which schools aren't represented by the CLC? I know Oregon isn't—but I'm sure they'd be keen to stay in the game. It's regarded as a great marketing tool.

I would imagine this make the game more like real football. i am sure they will have the BCS teams for sure but i could see them leaving out the Sun Belt / MWC's of the world if they try to ask for too much.

EA will get all of the schools for any game they make. It may not have many benefits of being in the game but not being in the game are obvious: hurts recruiting, makes the fanbase unhappy, and it does not help grow the brand.

Here's how it will play out , thinking like EA would think.

Teambuilder will be the engine for all the teams. The gamers will be creating the teams not in the game, whichever they will be, so they'll be created on Teambuilder. Probably will be a new teambuilder site they'll need to develop without the NCAA bells and whistles.
