(XBOX) "Y" Button on defending passesTrying to defend passes by using the normal "switch to closest db with "B" button and then "Y" to defend pass and my players don't seem to be reacting to this. Anyone else?GEAUX TI-GERS!Tags: None

Re: (XBOX) "Y" Button on defending passes

Did they change the defend pass button from the shoulder buttons? Didn't it used to be LB or RB?

Ball Hawk/attempt interception/sometimes swat is Y. Swat only is LB.Comment

I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes the player doesn't react to the Y button. Sometimes I feel like the game isn't coded to go into a interception animation with the the way the player is positioned at that particular time or something.

None the less, it's frustrating as hell...Comment

Re: (XBOX) "Y" Button on defending passes

They changed it to help keep you running with the wr. The old way required more skill as you have to keep running with the wr when you switched to them. If you we're pointing another direction than the one the db was running when you switched defenders the wr would break open. Now when you switch the db keeping running with the wr automatically. If there is a chance to intercept the pass all you have to do is hold Y and the db will "ball hawk" and go for the INT.Comment

Re: (XBOX) "Y" Button on defending passes

I remember when instruction booklets came with games and it told you what to do. Now that they made it even MORE convenient and put the instructions right in the game, people have no idea where to look.

LB is to swat. Tapping Y does nothing. You have to hold it down and the animation will take place on its own at the appropriate time.Comment

Re: (XBOX) "Y" Button on defending passes

Yeah, tapping Y doesn't do anything, hold down Y. I haven't determined if he moves to the ball while you're holding Y, but it appears that he does automatically as long as he's near the ball. So it's like a magnet kind of thing...In skills trainer, I intercepted 15 balls out of 16 or something like that, with ease.Comment

Re: (XBOX) "Y" Button on defending passes

Yea but skills trainer is nothing like the real game. The WR doesn't even run in skills trainer. He jogs.

Ball Hawk works sometimes, but more often no animations takes place. I like to use swat--- in prior games, if you went for pick and nothing happened you were screwed and swat worked 100% of the time if you were in position. However, in this years debacle, swat never works. Never. Only in skills trainer, when the WR jogs. What's worse, even if you just let the CPU handle it and the DB is in perfect position, the DB will neither swat nor intercept, just watch the WR make the catch. Pathetic.

 Defense is broken.Comment

This just kills me. I do the skills trainer of it. I get every pick. When I go into games they drop every dang ball. The only INTs I get are ones that are thrown directly to me or ones that get bobbled and happened to get caught.NFL:Buffalo Bills
