The Chicago Bulls Association: The Quest for Another Three-peat

    THE CHICAGO BULLS

The Chicago Bulls have officially decided to hire 22 year old Tony Thierjung Jr. as their new General Manager. He is a home town guy that brings a strong vision for this organization to get back to their winning ways of the 90's. He spoke more about his vision earlier today to the media.....
I grew up watching Jordan and Pippen and head coach Phil Jackson dominate the NBA and that is something I want to bring back to the city of Chicago! We have the coach that can get us a championship, we have that number one guy in Derrick Rose, we are just missing that number two, but we are hopeful one of our guys can step up and fulfill that role otherwise my staff and I will be on the look out for someone who can fill that spot. I understand I am walking into a position where we had to pay the luxury tax last year and are currently on pace to do it again by the end of this year. I look to right that ship and get our cap room where it should be. I look forward to working with my staff to help structure a championship caliber squad and I am so blessed and honored to be given this opportunity.
The Fans have shown positive feedback to this new hire and look forward to what this season will bring.

GM Thierjung Jr. Quick to Work

The Chicago Bulls have decided to part ways with shooting guard Richard Hamilton. They received a 2013 2nd round draft pick from the Portland Trail Blazers. Thierjung Jr. had this say about the trade,
I wanted to make some room early on and this trade allowed us to drop five million dollars in exchange for a 2nd rounder. There was no way we could pay a third stringer that amount of money. Although we appreciated Rips' hard work day in and day out, our finances come first and this was a move that was purely from a business standpoint.

Thoughts on the Home Opener for the Bulls from Coach Tom Thibodeau, "We look to start this season strong and on the right foot. We are going to defend inside and outside with a lot of intensity and constantly look for the outlet on missed shots so we can get our transition offense going early on. We are a very well conditioned team and look to showcase our hard work in the offseason here on our home court for game one of the season."

                Bulls vs Kings

                Bulls Come Out Guns Blazing!

The Chicago Bulls started the season with an easy victory over the Sacramento Kings. They came out shooting the ball extremely well and their high pace transition game was no match for the Kings. Derrick Rose recorded a double double in his first game back from ACL surgery.

Post Game Press Conference (Thibodeau and Rose)

                    Reporter 1:
"First off, congrats on the first win of the season! What do you think helped propel your team past the Kings and what areas if any do you look to work on in practices?"
                    Tom Thibodeau:
"Thank you very much. Well, I was really impressed with the way we were able to get up and down to court on transitions especially fast breaks. We are constantly working to improve all aspects of our game, but I would say we will be working on crashing the offensive boards. There can be many easy buckets made on the offensive glass it's just a matter of getting our guys down there and in the correct position."
                    Reporter 2:
"Derrick, you looked very good in your return, how were you feeling?"
                    Derrick Rose:
"I felt good! It is exciting to be back in competition and going full speed. The knee is doing well, I plan on icing it later, but no pain or second guessing on my end"
                    Reporter 3:
"We are used to seeing you attack and draw fouls, was there a reason for not getting to the foul line.......like any fear when it comes to driving the lane?"
                    Derrick Rose:
"Not at all. I just settled for a bunch of jumpers mainly cause they left me with plenty of room and it has been something I worked on in the off season a lot. By having a shooting game pair with my attack game I feel like I can make myself a larger threat and thus attract more defender attention which will free up my teammates for easy buckets. I cannot wait to play next against the Cavs. I love basketball and it is my passion. Since my injury I have been working my A** off to get back on the court and help my team because I know we are capable of achieving so much!"

                        Bulls at Cavs

                        Easy Win in Road Opener

Bulls allowed the Cavs to hang around in the first half but then ran away with it in the 4th quarter. A strong interior game by both Boozer and Noah was the main reason for the second victory of the year for the Bulls. Rose had yet another double double with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

                            Following!

I am excited to see if the Bulls have what it takes to win it all this year. They definitely have a talented starting lineup, and some quality reserves. Interesting move to dump Rip Hamilton. I am a big fan of Jimmy Butler too, so I hope he can find a way to have a solid season.

                            Good luck!
